New to FitFreak

New to this forum. I actually stumbled across it with a google search "Can I fit all my camping stuff in my Honda Fit?". Although I didn't really find an answer, I thought this forum was pretty cute so I made an account. I loveeee my 2015 Fit, but it is so much different then my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, weird adjustment. This upcoming (first) camping trip with my Fit should be interesting...

Welcome aboard! Are you setting up to camp inside the Fit, or just to transport all your camping gear to the site?

Transporting all the supplies and two passengers. Also, no air mattresses and no frill just basics.

My uncle is giving me his old racks and cargo box he had from his Honda civic. It's the Yakima Base Line System? I don't know anything about racks so I hope it can fit my car. I'm pretty excited and grateful because I do know they are expensive.

I will get pics! I'm leaving September 30th.

Thanks!

I had to get new towers and base clips for the rack and cargo box but that is ok! still saved a ton thanks to generosity. Yesterday I put on the new towers and clips on but it is sooooooooo hard to get it on my car.It is probably just me uhg newbie problems...

Is that a custom fairing on your Yakima cargo carrier? Mine doesn't look like that.

OP - roof rack and box look great! Even if you are cross-contaminating with Thule and Yakima brands.

Hope you have a great trip.

I know I'm cross contaminating but hey it was a hand-me-down, I got super lucky that all I had to get were the towers and clips.

Thank you guys!
