New Member - First Fit ‘07 GD3
Hello all,
I bought this car from my late brother’s estate.. He passed away a little earlier this year. I thought it would be a nice tribute to him to keep it in the family. He had two actually: a 2008 GD3 that he kept as his summer car, and mine, the 2007, which he kept as his winter car. (Some of us do that up here in Ontario, where we dump tons of car-eating salt on the roads in winter.)
I let my nephew buy the nice summer one and I kept the winter one. It’s a first generation 2007 GD3. My brother’s mechanic told me “it’s one of the good ones ‘cause it was made in Japan”. It’s not pristine, but it will make a fine winter beater. It’s not my first Honda. I owned an ‘87 Honda Prelude Special Edition back in the day (loved that car) and we have an ‘11 Odyssey family hauler. Itself an awesome vehicle in its own right. But I have been pleasantly surprised how fun the Fit is to drive (although just a little more power would make it really fun) and how CAVERNOUS the Fit is for such a small car.
The speakers are original and only one is working. I shopped for a replacement speaker, which led to buying a new head unit, amp, and speakers all around. Got a little carried away with the Cyber Monday sale at Crutchfield, what else can I say.
So appreciate being able to peruse the various forums to help me figure out the install and fix some of the other minor deficiencies in the car I have noticed.
Nice to meet you all!
