I have no HOA.

For the most part, my neighbors care about keeping up some basic standard of appearance.

More importantly, both of my immediate neighbors are great folks.

mike- sounds good. yah, good neighbors are definitely important. one of my immediate neighbors is really nice. he and i go back 18yrs when our community was built and we've always been good neighbors.

.. he did warm me a while back dat these hoa meetings have degraded and he stopped going to them. lol

hoa is nice to have if you want the community to look consistent and not having to have to worry about lawn care and snow removal, etc. if they offer it. i have no interest in houses so for me it makes sense to have someone manage it all for me. im not mad at the hoa, im angered by the old geezer losers that came and contaminated our community. wealthy elderly folks are welcome.

Kenchan - what part of SoCal were you in? Yeah those are all valid reasons to live where you live.

Mike410b - yeah totally agree. Our immediate neighbors are amazing. We are the corner house so we only have neighbors on one side and behind us. Have never spoken to the behind neighbors in the 2 years we've been here.

Happy hump day everyone!

shinjari- i lived in torrance the very south by rolling hills. i would drive up to malibu every weekend morning and carved the canyons. then in the pm drive out to north of anaheim where a bunch of my RC buddies would get together for parking lot races.

this was 20yrs ago.. cant believe how fast the last 2 decades went by.

alright today need to go to a late pm meeting followed by dinner with the members.. since i get up early am these dinner meetings can put me to sleep about half way in..zzzzz.. im not hosting any customers this time so no issue dozing off.

no car stuff planned today. hope the decals i ordered over the weekend comes in soon.

car wise im going to try washing my GTI on saturday even though it looks like rain most of the morning and early pm. problem right now is that the sun goes down real early so if i cant start by 3:30pm itll be too dark to do a hose wash. in such case ill just wash the wheels and do the initial rinse with a hose and then pull the car inside to do the rest waterless.

have a good thursday everyone!

Happy Friday!

Did a FULL detail on the Miata today. Was a 'cool' 70° F here in San Diego.

Chemical Guys waterless wash
Meguiars Clay, ultimate compound, ultimate polish/prewax, ultimate liquid wax.

Despite its size it took as long as the freaking Civic...4 hours start to finish

So silky smooth and shiny.

When can we talk you into lowering it

I like the black wrap, shortens the car up a bit.

I'd rather talk him into putting wheels on it.

The stock Civic wheels are OK to me, but those stock Miata wheels are a bit wimpy looking.

Thanks, I'm really happy with the wrap and how it changed the look of the car.

I have my mag blue gram light 57drs from my GE8 that I plan to put on the miata...eventually. Gotta lower it first and the only real way to lower is via coilovers. Which run about $700 for the flyin miata VMAXXs I want. Unless i go Tein basics which are surprisingly around $400, just seems too good to be true at that price.

I refuse to put the gram lights on until I can lower it. Get expensive modding two cars and somehow doing house projects and trying to not use the credit card. Supposed to be paying debts/student loans off, not adding haha.

Stocks are 15x6 +40 and 13lbs
Gram light 57drs are 15x8 +35 and 14.5lbs.

alright last night after the all day off site meeting out of state, drove the guys back to our office and then took them out for dinner and had a good time. rented a dodge caravan to do the 300 mile drive back. car did well with all the adults and gear on board. we took a plane out there early am. dropped them off, returned the rental and ubered back to my office garage.

hopped in my GTI and holy frikken crap it felt right at home.
i'm not much of a AT guy but after a long day the DSG is nice

have a good saturday everyone!
