I like those covers! Very OEM looking.

Totally unnecessary, but they do make the bay look more finished.

yah, definitely nice dress up for the engine bay id get it too.

i dont know about u guys but i like washing my undercarriage and keeping it very clean too. i just hate opening the engine bay or going under my car and find dusty rusted crap all over my otherwise clean car.

im not sure wat works for cats but i think they dont like the smell of lemon and lime. like all citrus they dont like. id spray some concentrated lemon juice on areas they like to hide.

Well I hope that last set is still available in about an hour when i get home...my amazon gift card is there....not here at work lol.

I agree it makes the engine bay look more complete.

I try to keep my engine bay as clean as I can. Especially considering this car being new and all. Even my 'old' cars I give the engine bay a good cleaning.

Our 191k mile Fit still looks new in the engine bay and underneath. That's even with it being the wife's "beater" that I didn't focus on for 10 years. It just received what I would consider my routine maintenance. That includes a thorough cleaning a couple times a year.

Yes, I too like a clean car!

When I see these filthy engine compartments I just wonder how they got that way. It really doesn't take much effort or time.

I should add though that we live in GA.

Anyone that keeps a car clean in heavy snow states has my utmost respect. That looks hard!

Lately, been looking more and more about trading/selling the Miata for a extracab pick up truck/suv for home depot runs/camping/light towing duty. Something more 'functional' than the Miata.

Like a late 80s-00s Nissan Hardbody, or Toyota Pickup/Tacoma....OR go super old and get something like a 50s-70s GMC or something.

shinjari with your home improvement projects it makes sense to have a truck. im sure your civic will thank you too cause you risk scratching the interior and leather each time!

yah, snow belt states are tough.. especially with the salt they use. i noticed so much rust in the GK's engine bay the other day when i was teaching my kid on wat vitals to check. like around the engine mounts.. all rusted. and like the brackets and all.. thing is so sad. its like i wanted to like the GK but it just keeps going the opposite direction..

on the other hand, my GTI has barely any rust in the engine bay. it's so minor i wouldnt even count it as rust, more like discoloration. going to give the car a through cleaning real soon. need the salt to wash away first.

I keep shopping trucks also. I think this is the first time since '96 that I didn't have a truck in the mix. Gone about 5 years without a truck now (keep borrowing the neighbors) and I'm missing the convenience.

Problem is that they are all crazy over priced right now. My last truck was an '08 F150 Supercrew XLT 5.4 optioned up that I bought new. That exact truck is more than double the price now. Hard to justify.

I'd like to find an older full size extended cab truck for a reasonable price. Haven't found one yet.

Forgot to mention, there's an eBay coupon ending soon!

PSPRINGTIME - gets you 15% off, but it ends in a few hours

I bought spark plugs for the Fit and something the neighbors wanted. Good time to buy whatever if you need something.

especially the f150's are a huge bang for the buck imho... like they start around 30k yet the performance is like up there. no wonder it's the #1 selling vehicle in the USA..

I mostly agree. They get stupid expensive if you try to duplicate the features of my Lincoln, but I love that you can get a Coyote 5.0 in all of it's glory!

For 2018 it's a 12.5:1 compression 7,000 rpm monster of a v8.

One is likely in my future. Just have to figure out how to get a CTR and 5.0 F150 into my life while not breaking the bank.

Too many car "needs" and not enough money or parking places.

Yeah I saw that coupon....ebay $46 for engine covers and ships from China (2 weeks+)...or amazon for $56+ tax but ships from US (few days)....

Looking forward to the return of the Ranger.

Do miss my 2006 Nissan Frontier crew cab. Cost me just over 20k new....same truck now...30k+...what?

hahaha, EEK.

I also got a t-shirt I had a picture printed on from walgreens.

It is no doubt the dumbest purchase I've ever made.

Happy Hump Day everyone. I know we are all more or less car enthusiasts...Kenchan is quite the audiophile...any of you watch guys? Been wanting one of the new G-shock steel watches.

https://www.gshock.com/watches/g-steel/gstb100d-1a
or
https://www.gshock.com/watches/g-steel/gst200rbg-1a

I have another nice G-shock and my Tag Heuer that I got as a graduation gift from my dad. Theres just something nice about a good watch...the mechanics of it etc.
