Maybe a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder paired with an electric motor and manual transmission in "Sport" trim would be neat for a commuter?

I'm afraid we're going to get poor drivetrain options paired with CVT's instead. They'll keep working at the Fit until it truly becomes a toaster oven with two dials.

I'd be overjoyed if they offered a 1.0L I3 with a manual. Doesn't even need the EV stuff.

I left off turbo....it would need a turbo.

If it could have 120ish hp and knock down 40+ mpg, I think it would be a winner.

Those seem very doable given that Ford already hits those with the Fiesta 1.0t.

If Honda could just convert you to a CVT guy, you could be their model customer

I'd be all for a CVT for the right $/MPG. I don't need a race car for a daily.

Manual's aren't about speed (modern auto's are faster) they are about enjoying the experience.

Many people don't want the experience. Hence the popularity of appliancemobiles.

sorry to hear about ur injectors gafit. huh, please explain more about corn juice tuning into garbage in a month’s time.

i use stabil when hibernating cars for 6 months+ but not when I might drive them every couple of weeks to a month at a time. makes me wonder if i should use stabil regardless in the winter.

manuals are definitely for enjoyment. i wouldn’t have it any other way. WRX with AP is a joy to drive everyday and cheap too considering how fun it is. all mods included still under $40k. not bad!

id get a RS4 or a M3 with dual clutch if i just wanted to go fast. hell a tesla maybe.

I have a sports car that revs to 9000 RPM, has one of the greatest manual transmissions ever put in a car, a perfect driving position and razor sharp/twitchy handling.

Not every drive needs to be a touge battle.

so today i should be getting another gallon of SpeedShine. decided to just subscribe on amazon since i use up a gallon in about 2 months time. i use other generic Meguirs stuff for my dd since i prefer synthetic when using in the sun.

hey a bird crapped on da GK for the first time in 3 months. lol. but i think it was bombed while my wife parked the car at a store. still no bird crap in my WRX.

tomorrow need to stop by my hair stylist for a hair cut. i’m sure he will ask me many questions about my WRX cause i had told him last month that i was working on it a little at a time. he’s a car guy too. and have lots of stories to share.

have a good friday day and weekend everyone!

Can I get it in the spy-camo? Haha.

Yeah it kinda has a Mitsubishi Mirage shape/look to it...

Yeah having 2 cars....one for fun and one for DD duty would be ideal.

Gasoline Expiration - Ethanol Blend Fuels Have a Short Shelf Life

That says 90 days from time the ethanol is added to the fuel. So, the refinery adds the ethanol. It then gets shipped to the station. It gets used up at the station over time. Hard to say how long it's good from the time you receive it.

The Site says new gas in tank every 2-3 weeks.

I'm running an ethanol treatment in the Fit to be safe. In my yard equipment I only run pure gasoline with no ethanol.

I've had issues with my lawn equipment. Have had to replace carburetors from sludge. A good friend had ethanol related issues in his boat.

I think 90 days really is the limit.

Our Fit also had sludge ( an ethanol issue) in the bottom of the tank. Fuel pump died. Not sure if it was due to trying to move the sludge or just age.

E85 has strong advantages, but E10 is about the worst thing ever created.

I was posting that first link in regards to lifespan of E10 gasoline. I agree with your method.

I've had good luck with Stabil in my lawn equipment. Used it before switching to pure gasoline. For the Fit, I've been using an STP brand "ethanol treatment." For all I know, it's the same thing as Stabil.

The only point I was trying to make is that E10 has a short lifespan.
