Change Fits gearing

I want to change the fits gearing, so that first gear gets me to like over 12mph without being at like 3200rpm, and change my fifth gear, so I can cruise at higher speeds, so I'm not at like 70 at 3500rpm.

Cost estimate?
Will this negatively affect my mpg?
Recommendations?

gearing has been discussed before. IMO, it'd cost more in the long run to get a company to custom make gears for you, than you'd save by having a longer 5th gear.

Oh I didn't know that it had to be custom made.

there are two companies that offer changes to the Fits gearing in the threads...but they do the opposite of what you would want they make them shorter so you could accelerate better (or atleast stay in the power band longer) needing more shifting and toping out at a lower speed and higher rpm.
For your needs/wants it sounds like it would be 100% custom...and I dont even want to try speculating the costs

Yeah it revs crazy low. I was in the fast lane with a M3 over the weekend rolling 90 mph under 3500.

Yea at 90mph im over 4 grand. Thats when my car really starts to pull in any gear. I guess thats when an intake and header really help.

Yeah thats why they have to have the MT rev higher. It has no torque so they have to keep you up near vtec to get any power to pass or anything like that without having to downshift everytime you pass a car on the freeway. With the AT the engine can rev lower but whn you go to pass a car and hit the gas it downshifts for you with out you doing anything but touching the gas pedal. Yay, i figured it out haha.

That makes sense but how does the manual get better fuel economy then if its at a higher rpm. Honda's site says that the mt gets 31 combined (which is very conservative) and the auto gets 29 combined (also very conservative). I was always trying to figure that one out. Higher rpm = better fuel economy? That doesnt really make sense unless the auto is always searching for a lower gear.
