New lurker from TX

Hello Fitfreak.net

I'm starting a new assignment at work which will require me to do 40-50 mile round trip commutes, so I'm looking at a B-segment car (particularly the 08 or upcoming 09 Fit) for a daily driver.

The site looks great so far!

Welcome If you have any question's we can help you with, there are lot's of helpful people on Fitfreaks, just ask away.As for your decision to get the current model or wait, you can't go wrong either way,IT'S A HONDA. The current model has a descent aftermarket already, but if it's for work(no modding)I would probably wait for the new model(I like the picture's and some of the detail's I've seen so far).It all come's down to your prefence in look's.Good Luck on your decision.

thanks! I've already test driven the '08 MT sport, and it is pretty entertaining drive. MUCH better than the Scion xB and xD I've also tested, though I must say there is quite a bit more power on the xB.

I'm just holding my breath for the '09 NYIAS to see what the release date is going to be

until then, I'll just keep racking up the miles on my current "double duty commuter"

The only problem with the new xB is it's to heavy(600 pound's)heavier than the old one!Gas/handling/tire and brake wear are all better with the Fit.You won't miss the power after about a week or two(I traded a 2007 STI for my Fit)so I know it seem's scary at first, but these's car's are just so much fun in every other way.
