Hey all. I got a question. How do you become a moderator? I dont want to be a mod (i cant yet, but maybe later ) and i just wanna know if there is a process you gotta go through. Thanks.

Most, in not all of the mods here on FitFreak have some moderation/administration in there forum backgrounds. I know i have ran/modded several forums before stepping up to a forum of this size.

That being said, we are all volunteers.
Im not sure how the other guys got picked, but i just contacted and Admin, showed him some of my forums, and luckily at the time they needed a Mod.
I know right now, we are pretty stacked as far as mods go.

i mean you guys were given that role.

i thought mods were primarily chosen for each area of the US seeing as the mods suck for northeastern states,
i tried to become more of a community organizer than a mod in my area but if it comes down to experience like TOOL mentioned i have very little.

oh well
not very sure what the difference between mod/super mod is.

Finally!! I was wondering when someone was going to answer me. One thing was that i remeber jdjohnson9 wrote an article on the rep system, and some people wanted him as a mod, and he eventually became one.

Edit: Come on mods, give me answers. I need to know. If i am going to ever aspire to be a mod, i need to know!!!

 

i think you have to rep me as many times as possible to become a mod. but im not really sure.

I demanded to be a mod.
Honestly, we dont need anymore mods. On average we have about 3 mods on during the day. I know at least one, thats Chris.

After hours we have 3-4 on at all times. We dont really need anymore.
Spam is cleaned up within minutes, as well as the ban.

To become one, you need basically what Tyler said. Also you need some post count and to know the forum and its sections.

First off, you cant because you did a double post.
Anyone that does double posts are automatically exempt from being a mod or admin.

Haha. A post about me. I had to respond.

Heres my .02 cents on this. I did the rep thread because i thought it would bring some good to the forum by teaching new members about the system. When the member said that i should be a mod it was just a nice pat on the back for myself. I had already been on the site for a bit and had already managed to work my way around everywhere and get the hang of everything and getting to know the members. I was one of the only mods (i believe) that did not have any experience with any forum but because of my helping out and great attitude i was choosen to be a mod. thats my story in a nutshell. Hope that helps.
