Herro~ Anyone actually look at these threads?

Lurker for several months now, finally decided to join just for the heck of it. I'm Sai from Fullerton, CA. I used to drive an old BMW 528i up until a few days ago when it was finally decided to resell the car (needs a new engine). That car has given me so much trouble. Consistent overheating, random explosions, ton of black and white smoke pouring out of the exhaust, a disgusting smell whenever something was going wrong with it, but super fine leather seats. <3

Anyway, so after that, I now drive an old 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee (the first car I drove, previous to the BMW). The only reason why I stopped driving it back then when I first got my license was because it would randomly stop on the freeway and surface streets, regardless if I was moving or not. But now that the BMW is gone my parents decided to throw the Jeep back at me. My parents felt bad for me, they got into a ginormous argument with each other about whether they should just get me a new car or not since the last two cars have been stressing me out beyond belief. Dad doesn't want to buy me one, but he promised to get me the car I want for my birthday which is April 23rd. So I'm going to ask for the Honda Fit. I've been eyeballing the car for a while now and I'm set on getting it for sure. But I mentioned the 2010 Hybrid Honda Fit to my dad and he might want to get that for me as soon as its out...which should be later this year.

Long story short, I'm fit-less, but I'm hoping to get the 2010 Hybrid Fit. Oh, and eff the economy- because of it, I can't get the Fit! I want it so bad. ;[

Oh, I also go to Orange Coast College. Anyone go there?! Maybe I could steal your Fit to drive around? <3

I almost forgot, but a lot of the pictures aren't working in the forums? Like....a ton? I hope it's not just me...

hey welcome,
If you are not logged in, a lot of the pics wont show.

My humble $.02 is get the regular fit.
Does not sound like at this point in your life you have wads of $100 bills falling out of your pockets.
Hybrids often take 5-7 years to get the payback and weigh 200-300 lbs more, which would take some of the edge off the spunky Fit's fun to drive factor.

Oh, I see. I may have to argue with my parents to get the regular fits then. It seemed like an awful good deal though...a hybrid at $20k? Sounds awesome to me.

Where have you heard there will be a hybrid Fit for 2010? So far as I know nothing is set in stone yet, has this changed?

Here are a few links.

Honda Fit Hybrid - Overview | Hybrid Cars
2010 Honda Fit Hybrid New Car Blog

Few of the highlights in above links:

"In 2006, an unnamed source at Honda said plans were in place to make a hybrid version of the Fit (the Jazz, if you live anywhere other then America). The president and CEO of Honda, Takeo Fukui, rather emphatically stated that no such plans were in the works. The theory apparently was that the Fit was already so fuel efficient (27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway) that the added expense of a hybrid would not be worth the improvement in an already impressive gas-mileage. Then, crude oil prices went through the roof. In a, perhaps not surprising, turn around, Fukui announced earlier this year that a hybrid version of the Fit would be available in late 2009, as a 2010 model."

"Luckily, we do have a bit more then speculation to go on, and the estimates offered by Honda suggest the 2010 Honda Fit Hybrid will top the price tag of the conventional Fit by a little less then $2000."
