Just leased a 2010
Just leased a 2010
Did the zero down thing Honda was running. I'm not a "Fit fan" or Hondaboi but I needed an appliance to not modify when I sold my heavily modded turbobrick. Got an autotragic white 2010 to drive in the winter while I swap my 96 Miata from a supercharged 1.8 to a GM LS1. Of course there are a few things I CAN do to personalize my winter beater so I picked up some wheels (not on yet), tinted the windows, and debadged it. Planning on color-matching the mud flaps and blacking out the lower rear bumper. Thats about it other than lowering-I'm a tech by trade so the springs are easy and will be off at lease turn in. My car is in my Avatar but heres a bigger pic:
Underpowered, too big outside for the room inside, Doesn't handle very well, the list goes on. Honda dropped the ball when they got away from control arm front suspension. For a size comparison here is the Fit parked behind my brick.

The brick could swallow two passengers, a huge armor box, 5 suitcases and a cooler AND still fit a transmission, trunklid, bumper, and some other random parts I picked up while on vacation. Also I could reach the center of the roof while washing it. Cruzed effortlessly at 95mph and handled Deal's Gap as well as a stock Miata. Granted it got 22mpg but it was a sweet ride. Sold it because I didn't need two projects with the V8 Miata swap coming up. Hence the leased appliance.
Here is the Miata for reference.

Probably, but it was time to move on. It had 278k miles on it with the boost turned up to 11psi so it was needy at times. Not only that but I had a huge stash of parts taking up space in the garage. I need the garage space for the V8 Miata swap. The whole interior has to come out along with the drive train.
Nothing against the Fit, it fills its purpose as an unobtrusive commuter. I purposely leased it so I wouldn't be tempted to mod it and try to make it something its not. The best thing about it is giving it back in 3 years.
