Kind of new

I'm Tyler, I bought my fit about a year ago used. 2007 base, was suppose to be a daily driver (I'm a mini trucker) because my project is taking too long but I could resist messing with this thing. I started out by lowering it 2" on the factory steelies. Then bought a set of 17x7.5 in a 42mm Rota G-Force gold with 205/40r17 rubber. Thing looked pretty damn good.

But it wasn't low enough, so I searched around and was looking at prices for a bag set up's. The kits I was coming across was just rediculously priced. So I got with a buddy of mine and we figured out how to do it using the factory front struts modified of course, and air shocks in the rear.

Then I looked around some more and saw everyone running and the biggest 17s on their bagged fits, so I got this bright idea to go buy some 19s for it.

But, it didn't sit low enough, so after doing some cutting of useless sheet metal in the front and rear I got it down pretty close. I know a lot of people aren't going to like it, 19's I will admit are a bit extreme for such a small car, but oh well. I like it.
This is how she sits as of tonight. Trimmed a little bit more out in the front and installed some HIDs. Also ordered billet grilles for both top and bottom.

I admire your ingenuity. I admit it's not quite my style, but I'm finding that I actually enjoyed this thread more than the ocean of other ones with the same old bolt-on modifications.

May I suggest a different style of wheel though? Maybe you can turn this into a more VIP theme.

Any pics of your minitruck? I'm wondering if the style is similar to the Fit. If so, even more reason to switch up the style a bit with this car.

Nothing against VIP syle or anything but it's not for me. I like what I've got going so far. After a sport lip kit, the billet grilles and some other touches I'm going to leave it be. I wasn't going to go as far as I have but it's addicting and the wife keeps giving me the ok. I blame her. lol

I like some of the chrome wheels I have seen on the VIP Fits. The 19s look huge. Keep up the work should start a build thread.

Well, since I last posted I have down sized to 17" wheels again. And shortly will be going to a 16" wheel. I'll be running a 205/40r16 on some 16x7 wheels. I ordered a sport lip kit and header back exhaust. I still don't like how the front sits higher than the rear laid out so some major modification will be getting down in the front end. Hopefully I will be about 3/4"-1" front laying pan.

Looks pretty good to be honest. I do not like the look of the 19s when they the Fit is raised. For the most part they do look good. It does look a little funny though when lowered as well on the 19s. I think 17s would look the best on the Fit due to its small size. But that is my opinion. Kudos to you for trying out something new.
