New owner from the Cayman Islands.
New owner from the Cayman Islands.
Good afternoon all.
After having done a bit of forum research, this looks like a pretty friendly place to drop anchor. I have been on auto forums for a while with my past cars and this seems like a great place to continue the fun. I look forward to learning new things about my new car and meeting new people. Thank you.
My name is Marc and I am originally from Victoria, BC, Canada. I moved to the Cayman Islands about 6 months ago to follow a job opportunity and try a different lifestyle...which was a good call. My previous cars have included a Pontiac Sunfire (first car, don't judge), a Monte Carlo SS (a rebound from the sunfire), and most recently a Mazda6 (my baby - see below). I sold the Mazda when I decided to move and now I finally have a new toy...literally just picked it up from the port today.
She is a 2008 Honda Fit, 1.3L, 4WD, JDM. White, and it looks fairly stock aside from an upgraded pioneer screen and Japan Highway toll controller..which speaks only in Japanese when i touch it to try and remove it. As I mentioned, I have only had it a few hours so I have a lot to look through still. Living on a small caribbean island left me with primarily looking off shore for a car, and Japan has some amazing deals. I purchased this car for about $4,000USD including shipping and cargo insurance. It took a month to get here and that was that..port broker too care of the rest for me. I am happy it is a real car and not a photo or a toy car since I had only seen photo's up until today.
Just wanted to introduce myself and I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Thank you! Love your work.
I moved from one island to the next, and this one makes Vancouver island seem like a small country. We are 22 miles from point to point here in Cayman. Although the life here is paradise, I do miss proper roads, mountains and even hills. That photo was everything good about the west coast.
