Hi

In the process of purchasing a 2008 Fit Sport 5-speed with only 90,000k (56,000 miles). So I'm looking for a forum to help with my planned modifications.

Nothing too crazy. Just a LSD (for winter driving) and while I'm doing that a flywheel and possibly a clutch with lighter rotational mass. Also a rear disc brake conversation is of interest. Rims (obvoisly). As for power... Just some bolt-on parts to help it breath and fart

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The rear disc conversion is actually a pretty good modification. It opens the door wide open for various pad friction materials and rotor selection.

I personally recently did the EP3 Si rear disc conversion and its actually a fairly easy swap if you are comfortable with turning a wrench.

At risk of thread-jacking, is the EP3 rear-disc swap specific to the GD8? Or will many of the parts work for my GE8?

Beaver, from one newb to another, welcome. Your mod wish list looks like mine, plus a different shifter.

You MIGHT be able... but don't hold me to it.

The reason being is that you will need to remove the drum assembly, install a Scarebird conversion bracket, and reassemble accordingly off of that. You WILL have to be careful of damaging the spindle because it is NOT replaceable like the GD3 (you will have to get a new rear axle if threads cannot be repaired).

In addition to that, I've heard that the GE8 is longer than the GD3 so you may need a different parking brake cable... Even if the cables were the same length, the EP3 cables are not plug and play so they will need to persuasion and have brackets bent/relocated.
