Looking into the fit

Looking into the fit
Hey everyone, I have been looking into a 2008 Honda Fit as my new daily driver. It has 46k miles on it. I have been falling in love with these cars since a couple of months ago. I had some questions. How easy\cheap are these to maintain? I noticed the engines are not that bad looking to work on (previous car is an Imported RHD 300zx) I been searching on this forum and some other and it seems that the fit is a good choice for a daily driver. also should I avoid buying any fits that are around the 100k mile mark? I have seen some in my area for around 5-7k
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sorry looking to only pick up from locally (Raleigh, NC) Any reason why you are getting rid of it?

Selling it just bc i dont drive it. I have a truck also. Want to just reduce the amount of "fun" toys i own. Expecting another child in Aug.

Great as daily driver-be sure to get airbag recall if you buy affected Fit

I've read about needing coils/plugs/valve adjustment around 100k. I can't say I've seen anything else chronic to the car.
Tiny tires are cheap, and if you drive smoothly you won't burn through brakes. It's dirt cheap to operate.

On my 08, that I owned from 42k miles to 80k miles, I changed:
-Tires
-Oil
-Sway bar end links.
That's it.
On my '12 that I've owned from 41k to 60k I've changed:
-All fluids.
-Tires.
Nothing more.
On my wife's '08, that we've owned from 100k to 125k I've changed:
-Coil packs/spark plugs
-Tires
-Brake pads
-Brake rotors
-All fluids
-3rd gear sensor (common issue with automatics apparently, my cars are both 5MT, was a $50 or $60 fix)
All other maintenance was preventative maintenance that I did for piece of mind.
They're remarkably simple, reliable cars.

AS long as you take them for what they are, a basic transportation car that is designed for intermediate mixed driving, IE its not a freeway flyer, its just not comfortable enough for 1300 mile road trips (For me,,, I'm old and picky.. ) its a relatively simple (At least my 07 is) car with not too many warts.
To me its kinda the modern version of a 60's VW Bug.. Even needs the valves adjusted..

It's a great car that used to be (1st and 2nd gens) low priced- there's really nowhere for them to depreciate to. The third gens are a bunch more expensive, they'll drop more once they're really on the used market in a couple years.

Books
I really recommend "Ghost Wars" by Steve coll.
Great book and award winner.
