Honda Veteran, Fit Newbie!

Hey, everyone! I'm excited to see that there's a forum for the awesome Fit! I purchased a brand new Civic in 1998, and I currently still own it. It's got 260k+. I also just had to stop driving my 1997 CR-V because of underbody rust. She had 315k+! Mechanically, everything is great. But, well, underbody rust. Hence, my purchase of my 2017 Fit!

A little concern a little while ago, though. I was on low fuel, and I pretty much coasted to the gas pump. However, it filled only to just under 9 gallons. Pardon my ignorance, but do you not get use of that last gallon?

Anyway, I look forward to chatting more!

Welcome Khartley!

That mysterious last gallon to gallon and half has irritated many of Fit folks. It's there, but I suspect that the fuel light is set the way it is for two reasons...

1. decrease the chance of someone actually running out of fuel
2. keep fuel in the tank to keep the pump submerged in fuel and not overheat
