Zalthras,
I have to say that your setup looks very professional. What type of Stereo system is that? Is it factory? I want to install something like that on my '11 FIT hopefully with a good bluetooth. Thanks for the writeup I will definitely look into doing this for my car. I will more than certainly need help since I am not a handy person whatsoever. But again thanks.

Rudy.

Nothing special, just the factory nav.

i have a 2008 base fit, and i was curious about the trunk lighting. with my fit the trunk light only turns on when the trunk is open, and does not turn on when the doors open. how did you wire your trunk light? does it turn on with the doors or no?

This is super freaking legit, I really think if you made the wiring setup and then just provided detailed install instructions, people would be all over them, Myself included.

Yeah, definitely.

I just purchased a whole bunch of stuff for the install...going to install footwell lights, as well as lights underneath the door handles on the outside....I just gotta figure out how I'm going to install it, lol.

-mini fuse circuit tap
-LED indicator round rocker switch (for the footwell lights)
-Lttle Dot SMD LED Accent Light (4x for the doors, 4x for footwells f/r) Little Dot SMD LED Accent Light | LED Light Modules | Accent Lighting | Super Bright LEDs
-extra wires

if anyone has a wiring diagram, that'd be great!

If you're referring to the lights I installed underneath the Cargo Cover, those are wired to the trunk light circuit. So they also only turn on while the hatch is open.

Just did my footwell lighting today!

I wired these so that they come on with the headlights. They seem a little bright, so I might hook it up to a variable resistor later so I can adjust the brightness.

Next step: Adding door sill courtesy lights and/or more footwell lights that come on with the dome light. Just waiting on my white LEDs to come in =)

Thanks for the awesome DIY!

Excellent posting.

So which fuse (what number of the fuse) did you tap into for the head light/LED?

Thanks!

I tapped into the gray wire shown in this DIY:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...upholders.html

Since it's wired with the parking lights, the LEDs blink when I lock and unlock my car. I don't mind the blinking, but if you do, the DIY also shows you how to work around that.

I have the OEM illumination kit installed, the light is definitely disappointingly dim. Is there a specific LED voltage I need that I can replace the existing lights with? I didn't look at the contents so I don't even know what the OEM kit comes with but I assume it's nothing fancy like a cold cathode tube. I'm sure that would give way more brightness anyway.
