Replace exisit GE8 headlight bulb

Dear all:

I did a search on the forum and only found the sticky for GD (you have to jack up the car to replace light bulb, etc.).

I am trying to replace my headlight bulb on my GE8. I was able to unplug the connector (lots of grease!) but how can I take the bulb out?

I was told to turn anti-clockwise and suppose to come off easily - but not sure what to hold on to "turn". Should I turn with the rubber hosting or just the bulb (the 3 connectors)?

Thanks again buddy!

There is a metal clip that holds the bulb in. You have to remove that first before you can take out the bulb. If I remember correctly you have to push it toward the bulb then down and it should spring loose.

I tried to look (tight area) but was not able to see (or feel) the clip.

I must be missing something obvious - can't be this hard!

Once you see it, you'll see that its very easy... but of course it is hard to see.

Get a small mirror and a flashlight.

Manual says

1. Disconnect the 3P connector (A), then remove the
rubber cap (B) from the headlight.
2. Pull the retaining spring (A) away from the bulb (B),
then remove the bulb.

I changed mine quite awhile ago so do not remember if have to squeeze or move the spring before pulling away. It is easy though and do not touch the bulb.

Thanks guys - was able to do myself.

What I was missing was the plastic cup. After I removed it, I can get to the metal clip.

Took me less than 5 minutes each afterward.

Many thanks again!!
