I got the 791 XV. I got best buy to install mine since my wife works there and her friend is the installer. So far the main parts are installed. Just waiting for the bypass module for the ignition for autostart.

Getting it finished real soon!

I installed the Viper 5000...its still not working 100% lol...if you have never done a car alarm I suggest letting a pro do it for you. I am still working out my issues.

i did viper on my s2k but i went audiovox on my fit with the new 998. keyless, remote start, windows up/down, full security. been installing alarms for over 10 years so no issues here

viper is great but the price premium does not reflect quality. my audiovox is just as good and half as much.(well free since i installed it)

Yes, I got one when I first got my Fit in Apr. Had the shop install it and haven't had any problems whatsoever. I got one of the more basic models, just auto door locks, etc. Love it.

OK, what am I missing about the Honda security system? I've had a security system in every car I've owned, aftermarket and OEM. They've all worked when armed. But the only issues I've ever had with an alarm was the result of the install, and not the electronics. If the Honda system doesn't have any security holes in it, why install an aftermarket alarm?

Ditto... I've seen a friend's car where he can turn his radio on.. that was kinda cool but i don't see why he would do that ..lol

OEM security systems, depending on which car you get, cannot be upgraded to open your trunk, open and close windows, turn on headlights, autostart, window defroster, etc..

those of you with HID lights,, get the option to turn on the light with your alarm.. hehe If you can't find your car at night and don't want to beep your alarm, just turn on the lights!..

I'm running a Viper 5000 alarm with 2-way, hood pin, trunk pin, backup siren...all the goodies. I had it on my CRX before then when I bought my fit, I had it transplanted...it's been great, both on my CRX and GD3.

My Mini monitored the hood and locked/unlocked the hatch. I'll assume the hatch locks from the OEM system, but does anyone know if the hood is monitored?

Also, the literature I have says the S security system has "remote entry" which I'm assuming is the same as "keyless entry" and that Honda needed to make the distinction because they offer both as accessories. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just got my alarm finished up at best buy today. "since september!"

The 791 XV is pretty sweet. I like the auto start and auto kill. Start and kill the engine within a push of a button.

Now I want the aux. button to turn on my HID headlights.

I like how the chirp isn't obnoxiously loud either.

Weee!

Sorry to bring up an old subject of sorts. But I am going to reuse my old alarm that I had on my other car. Its a clifford alarm with trunk release. I own a sport fit and it has the factory alarm. As most of you know if you press the unlock button twice all the doors unlock and the trunk. Will this be the same with the aftermarket alarm?

I was wondering since the stock alarm system has a led in the gauge cluster already does that get reused for the aftermarket alarm?

Yeah have the viper 5900 installed. One of two vipers with an actually good range for the 2way tech. Also have back up battery, glassbreak sensor, back up siren, and 2 mini pizos installed.

everyfit come with two key. I ask the dealer to make a other one it cost 126. to program it. one way to bypass the key sense is buy a dei PKH34 or a 556uw for people who have 3 set of key. and I have 2 set of 556uw if people need it i'm selling it for 20 each
