Kit is here

Mine came today as well. I was number 12 on the group buy.

I'm off to get an AVIC-D3 now.

I have a few questions about that unit if you can answer them for me:

1. Does the NAV disk have to stay in the unit during navigation or can you play a dvd while the navigation is tracking in the background? (Assume the "Have to be parked to watvh a movie" issue is bypassed)

2. Does it say the name of the street instead of turn right in 300ft?

Thanks,

Utnorris

From what I have read the data needed for a particular route can be cached off the disc and stored internally and the disc removed. If there was a significant deviation, the disc would have to be reinserted to pull off more information.

Since I will be using an iPod, I don't need access to the drive tray for a music CD. I'm not planning to watch DVDs while driving either, so it's not going to be a problem for me. I will just leave the nav data DVD in all the time.

I don't know if it announces street names.

There is everything AVIC at AVIC411.com. The experts on that forum could probably tell you.

You can also download the manual from the Pioneer website.

Don't believe so. I think Jon got into trouble for offering the group buy in the first place. Hopefully Scosche will realize that they are getting tons of free advertising and independent promoting by Fit owners who love this kit. It definetely is way better than the Metra kit. So again, GREAT JOB SCOSCHE!!!!!!!

Beats me. I was on the group buy list, confirmed, and emailed my payment info to Jonathan Grantham twice (once in April, once last Monday), yet I have not been billed nor received my kit yet. Next I'll call Scosche's order department to see if I can get my order filled.

I dont believe any one was billed prior to the kit arriving.

I doubt they'd ship them before charging people. If any credit cards were rejected, they'd potentially eat the cost of the kit for each one. I could see the charge taking a few days to appear on people's statements, however, during which the kit could be shipped and received.

SCOSCHE HA1558B INSTALLATION KIT (FOR 2007 HONDA FIT)
As I write this, that site indicates none in stock. On the other hand, the usually trustworthy Buy.com says "Very few left In Stock! Order soon -- product may sell out." Their combined price for the HA1558B, HA10B, and HAAB plus shipping comes out right around the same as the group buy price. Whether this inventory status is accurate, I dunno, but as of a few days ago it said the HA1558B was out of stock, not "very few left in stock".

Crutchfield has the Metra kit available, however I would wait a week or two and get the Scosche kit, it looks way better. Just give Scoshe a call and see about buying it directly from them.

Quebec, Canada.

I got my kit. It looks Great!
I'll probably have to cut 2.5mm of the A/C bottom posts too
but I don't care. It'll give me an opportunity to play with my
Dremel tool.

I noticed one of the two stickers in the middle was a little loose.
A little Krazy-Glue will solve that problem.

I had to make a few phone calls to make sure they would send me
the kit (even if I was on the GB list and John had my Billing Info).

Thanks to TIM @ Scosche for taking care of it.

Rendez-vous for installation is next Tuesday.
