Honda didn't do a good job when it comes to grounding their cars (I noticed similar incidents happening in my RSX). A grounding kit and a voltage stabilizer will solve part of the problem. Keep in mind that the Fit's electrical system is not designed for heavy loads (e.g. amps...etc).

any works... i mean it can't go wrong...

go to bestbuy, radio shack, or any walmart, they all work. it's all about leveling the power output to a lower voltage.

I found this write up and the previous one very informative. Thanks for the write up,even though I don't have a Fit yet. I will be coming back to this link when ready.
Good info!

Bull, O gauge wire is hardly ever needed unless it's an extremely powerfull amp. A 600 RMS system (just an example) can do perfectly with 4 gauge wire. Especially this being a short car (in which power cable won't be so long) it won't need anything bigger than 4 gauge in most systems.

I just installed my amp and sub over the weekend and found the writeup very useful. Although it took me 2 days to install it cause i kept running into problems and couldn't find the stuff i had in my old car. I ended up doing several runs back and forth to the store...

My setup is an Infinity Beta 10X sub and box, which I bought years ago and had in my prelude before it was rear-ended and totalled (that's how i got the fit), a 1.0 farad cap i purchased on ebay years ago, and a Pioneer GM5300T. I mounted my amp on top of the sub along with the cap. I tapped my remote wire into the same fuse BlackFit07 is using on his. Amp and cap are both mounted on top of the sub. Ran RCA cables on left side of car and power cable on right side of car. Sorry I have no pictures cause I don't have a camera cept my cell phone camera and it isn't that great. The box takes up just over half of my cargo space. Sub sounds great however. I don't mind

Future upgrades will most likely be a stereo with folding monitor with bluetooth, dvd playback, and/or navigation built in, upgrading door speakers and tweeter, and rewiring the door speakers with thicker speaker cables.

could you elaborate real quick? did you splice it into another wire in the speaker bunch, and if so, what color is that wire? I'm hoping to at least run all the wiring tomorrow, but so far have not seen where I can run the remote connection.

for the remote wire for the amp you can go to the drivers dash fusebox and tap the second #10 fuse

i didnt want to take my dash apart again so i decided to tap into the rear speakers. i took the right seatbelt panel off like in your picture but i was having a hard time finding the blue with white and the blue with black cable. so i sat down and thought about it for a couple of seconds and realized that those are the left speakers so it will only make sense to be on the left. so i took the other panel off and routed my hi - lo converter to the trunk. im not sure if this will create noise but i will take some pics and post them later.

Well I managed to get my sub and amp installed over the weekend. I love having the added tump back in my ride. This was the most complicated head unit I have ever had to remove from a car. For my power wire I ran it from the battery straight back and down, there is a good size grommet with a small wire loom running through it. If you look up under the drivers dash it is up to the top left. I managed to get the wire through there just by poking a hole with a screwdriver. And for the remote turn on I followed the crutchfield guide and used the yellow/red aux wire on the head unit. It works great!

Pic of wire running past the master cylinder.
I couldnt get a good picture, I could barely see it myself.

i just used a remote turn on reciever. i figured, if im going to run on my stock deck for a couple of months, i might as well save the hassle and use the 10 dollor reciever which works GREAT!

as for the line output converter i just bought it off elementaldesigns.com, check there site, they have everything you need.

hopefully by next week ill have my double din, with my 5 channel amp in my car.

it gets wired to your remote input on the amplifier from the deck/receiver.. it's really up to you guys where you run them to.
