Cool Japanparts.com armrest and luggage mat.

I just installed a JDM armrest console from Japanparts.com. The shipping was super fast - 8 days from Japan.

The armrest fit perfectly in my Fit Sport '07 - these are the part numbers.

242-009-001-H
242-009-001-L
Get the black 1.5s armrest - it's a matches the black US interior - in fact it's somewhat nicer material than the seats.

The installation took 1 hour - only real trouble I had was that I broke both front plastic clips. They are not critical/out of sight so I'm not very concerned. The armrest is quality.

The College hills Podcast is MONEY - you can watch video on you ipod while your doing the install.

Honda Jazz Imported Accessories for your 2007-2008 Fit Shipped at Discount Prices

I also got the luggage mat which is nice, and fits almost perfectly. There's a slight discrepancy along the outsides of the seat back areas. Fairly minor however. The piece Velcros onto the seat back carpet.

Both these items are great, but with shipping not cheap at all. If money is no object this is a great place to order from to get those hard to find parts for your USDM Honda Fit Sport.

Glad you like it. Its way too much money from them. $220 for the armrest and lip is a good price, I did a shipping quote to my door. Extra $100. Screw that.

Im waiting for the armrests to come back in.... Its taking forever.

Hi wlfit,

I was looking to buy the luggage mat from japanparts.com also, I can't seem to find it anywhere else online.

Did the luggage mat fit well on your car? Any chance you can post some pics

Cheers

Mat

The mat is very nice because it covers the back of the seats and it allows you to independently fold each seat perfectly.

It's a lightweight but high quality rubber. Velcro holds it up on the seatback and it uses the d-rings on the trunk floor for the bottom piece. Easy to put on and remove. There are two sections bottom and seat back, so you could in theory just use one or the other.

It fits perfectly except in the spots around the back of the seats where the seats clip in. The cutouts are just a bit off (like 1 inch). It's a minor problem, since it doesn't prevent it from staying on, and doesn't get in the way of the latch operation.

I'd give it a 8.5/10 (-1 for the cutouts) - I would buy it again.

What other options are there for the armrest? I know AJ has them but they are constantly on backorder and cost $335 for the both of them. We have to pay tax as well so even with the shipping charge of $100, it still comes in less than what AJ is offering up...where do you guys get yours from and how much?

Total cost was $474.39 for both -

With shipping and just ordering the armrest console and cover works about to almost the same as AJ-Racing. A little more, but it comes from Japan in a week.

hey wlfit, one question for ya, what did they ship the parts by and did you have to pay for any duties, customs, or brokerage fees? That is my main concern, for me, it is cheaper to buy it from japanparts than AJ since I don't have to pay taxes. The price for me comes in at $325 shipped to my door while AJ will charge $335+tax+shipping so I'd be close or past $400 for this part. If there are no gigantic fees at the post office, then this would be the better buy.

I broke a front clip installing my jdm console as well. I ordered some new ones from bernardi I think they were a buck fifty each to replace. I also broke the parking brake cover too and that was like 3 bucks i think.

I paypal'd them the cash and the stuff showed up at my door in 5 days. It's EMS/JapanPost (national mail service) which gets routing to USPS.

I've gotten bills from Fedex before for other imported items (a seiko wristwatch from Singapore), but it didn't happen for the JapanParts order.

There is a line item "Surcharge" on my bill which might be the US customs duty.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Parts Total : 38,000 Yen
Freight(Insured) : 13,068 Yen
Surcharge : 2,073 Yen
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Total Amount billed : 53,141 Yen
-------------------------------------------------------------------

All in all it was an easy and very fast transaction.

If you pay by credit card, your card company may charge an exchange rate fee. For me it was about $10, I think.

The armrest is expensive, but it makes the car far more comfortable for both the driver and the passenger. The aftermarket ones were $100 and looked cheesy to me - IMO the incremental cost is worth it for OEM fit and finish.

I don't know why the armrest isn't standard/offered in the US - like the passenger side vanity mirror it just doesn't make any sense from a cost vs. benefit perspective.

Thanks again for the replies

It is strange why these useful everyday items don't come with the Fit and why Honda dealers wouldn't be carrying these accessories here. But honestly, I hate vacuuming, I wouldn't mind if all the carpet came out and the whole interior was rubberized

Just ordered mine for a total of $327.59. Just the armrest and lid.

Update: I got it today and installed it in 30min. Looks terrific. And it came 2 days earlier.

Sorry to revive an oldy but did a lot of you guys order from this site?

I am just wondering because they offer the option of a grey armrest that will match my Canadian LX instead of the black.

Yes I've seen those and that's why i'd be interested to order from them but I'm just checking to see if this is a legit and good seller and how much time I can expect this to take.

Also wondering for shipping is to my door the best bet and what payment method is the best if I don't want brokerage fees and such.

So those who purchased from them any insight?

Oh so you did order from them good stuff. Did you have any additional fees above and beyond their shipping rate when you got it or paypal made it so that you would not have surcharges?

How was the packaging?
