JDM Center Console + Mugen E-Brake Boot

Anyone else have this combo? I just installed the center console and I noticed that the rubbery piece around the e-brake makes it extremely tight with the Mugen e-brake boot and is pushing it off. Anyone else have this problem? I don't want to get rid of my e-brake boot

I tried pulling it out so I could trim it, but it feels pretty solid in there. I don't like tearing things up unless I know how it comes off and the manual doesn't show the JDM console

I have the problem that you have...

The boot makes the ebrake thicker but I just left it on there...I've noticed small rubber balls show up from time to time.....just the rubber rubbing off...

I have yet to take off my centre console to see what effect this has on the boot itself, but I'm not worried. Can't see it, so it's not a big deal.

Damn, so it wasn't me and my installation, that's good to know My main concern is that the boot will start to wear where it is contacting the rubber. I could really care less about the rubber, but I don't want it wearing away at my boot! I tried pulling the bottom part of it out, but noticed that it was stuck in there pretty good. felt like it was riveted on there. It has a "T" design where the bottom of the "T" is riveted to the inside of the console. I might just take an exacto and cut off the top part of the "T" contacting my boot on either side up to the top.

Oh yeah, Dom, did you use the double sided tape when putting on the e-brake boot? I didn't and I notice that my boot keeps wanting to slide off...

The double sided tape does a very good job at keeping the boot on. I was going to suggest the same thing just trim the rubber around the opening until there is no contact.

Illusive, I used the double sided tape as at first I didn't put it on and like you, it started to move.

Also, trimming the rubber will not be possible as you'll have to trim almost all of it, or just take it off....it's weird, but maybe i can get a picture later today..

Yeah, I was going to trim it all off up to the very top where they have those rubber flaps. Thats as far as mine goes up.
