Stock seats wicked thin??

Anybody having problems with stock seat cushions feeling really thin or something? I've had my new car for about 1k miles, and it feels like my right cheek is sitting on the seat frame. I'm a big dude but not so big that I completely flatten the cushion? Thanks.

I think that the cushioning is a bit harder than most, maybe so that you dont sink in too much or so that it lasts. Since the gas tank is under there I dont think they had alot of room to work with to keep the cars capacity and dimensions from changing drastically with stuff.

when/if you push down on the cushion with your hands (leaning down on it with alot of pressure) do you feel anything? Like an obstruction? Do you think that its the separation from the middle raised cusion (grey one) with the surounding cushion (blackish one). Cuz I always thought that would be an issue...but it seems to collapse quite well and I dont really notice it.

keep us posted and good luck

I have the exact same feelings too.
I can feel the frame when i'm sitting on it.
I'm tall but not big(heavy) at all....

i think i'm a medium-sized guy and i didn't notice what you guys are talking about. my ass does get sore from sitting on it for long periods of time, but i just drove from berkeley to long beach (arrived an hour ago), and i didn't feel anything through the seat cushion. do you guys sit centered on your seats?

I actually had an 07 base fit and loved the seats for comfort and holding me in place recently I traded it for an 08 sport (for personal reasons) and can definitely tell a difference in seat quality. look at it like this, gives you a reason to buy a recaro bucket!!!!!LOL

Dunno about the seats cushions, but for me its more the material covering the seats that seem on the cheap side. I don't think about it much though, when it wears through, I plan to get the Fit seats redone with thicker mats or even leather.

That helps! but it's still not enough. I can definitely push down and feel the seat frame. Sliding the seat back helps a little. I do lean my right leg outwards, and I think that's a contributor.

Kind of an old post but I get the same thing as the OP. Not sure how big everyone is but I am 250lbs so I pretty much max the seats capacity, haha. I have 13k miles on it in 9 months though including many 8-18 hour trips. My butt gets sore from sitting for 4+ hours so I use a pillow. It helps some. I am eventually going to swap it though, I think a better seat would make the Fit 100x better. Maybe a Corbeau, not sure. Might just put some OEM Maxima or Accord seats in Leather.

I'm a light weight (160lb, 6'), and I can't sit in that seat for more than about 1 hr before it really hurts my right hip/ass. At first I thought it was becuase the seat is too hard, but I'm now I'm thinking it's at least partially seat location because when I push on the seat by hand it's not much different than other hondas that don't bother me. I use the cruise a lot (have to to avoid pain) and so I keep moving around to keep it from being a pain in the ass (literally). Once it gets warm enough to work on the car outside, I gotta figure something out.

Sweet, people are still digging this up!
I've taken to sitting on a towel which makes it tolerable but still not great. Soon I think I am going to take it to the dealer and see what they think because I am wondering if a support underneath is broken. If they say it's fine then I'm gonna have to perform surgery.
Polish if you get a swap it would be interesting to hear how that goes. I am thinking along the lines of taking the seat out and bolstering up the foam. Ideally I'd want no not lose the "magic seatyness".
