Looking for pics/feedback on Honda NAV accessory

Hello,

Just picked up our Fit. Thinking about the Garmin accessory NAV setup. Had the exact same thing on my MINI. Wanted to see if anyone here has additional pics of this setup or feedback on it. I know the NAV unit well (assume its a Nuvi 60). How is the mount?

I have seen some pics on line, but not many....

Thanks is advance...

It's overpriced. Just go get a Garmin unit elsewhere.

oh yeah, i know its overpriced but the mounting kit and hardwiring make for a much cleaner install. I was excited to see that Honda had broken out the mounting kit as a seperate piece only to find that it did not include most of the parts you need to achieve the mount they show.....

For us, we could go with an internal unit, but worry about theft. We could go aftermarket, but those tend to look like crap with all the wires n stuff, or we could go the honda accessory route.

To be honest i would like more info on this unit aswell. Im in the market for a new GPS. Im looking at the garmin Nuvi 200w. Im also looking at possibly a Pioneer Avic D3 in dash unit.
When you said "cleaner install" it cought my eye. What makes it cleaner with this Honda mount deal?

What makes it cleaner is that it has a special mount designed specifically for the car. It is also hardwired to your ignition so you don't have some dorky wire hanging out of the unit down to your cigarette lighter.

As I said, I had a similar setup from Garmin on my MINI Cooper and it was super clean looking. This one does not look quite as clean in terms of the NAV placement, but is still miles above a traditional handheld mount. I also like the fact that if you ever travel, you then have a portable NAV you can bring with you for a rental car. We typically buy in dash units with our vehicles, but really like the MINI solution which is why I want to see this one more.

I found these pics on the web of it:

That is clean, but I think you can replicate it with a hardwire kit and a flexible mount.
