alpine 9887 in the beetle. Clean, amazing time alignment. matchesd the dash of the beetle perfectly. I have an audiocontrol DQT in that car so no need to use the onboard EQ.

in the Fit I now have a Clarion 145 I beleive. The low end double DIN with rear USB. It's a great clean radio with pretty much no features. but lighting scheme matches the guages but not the dash cause Honda is dumb.

in my accord, I have a Clarion 955MC which is fancy bells and whistles touchscreen single din head unit with alot of latent noise. Can store 10CD's on it's built in memory card, and has alot of features that are not too useful but My wife loved it when we bought it 3 years ago so I put it in my accord (winter beater) untill it dies.

Pioneer F90

Pros- awesome
Cons- Boot time (50+ seconds) especially bad with an SD card. 30ish with Ipod or CD until music plays, but control is very lagged until the whole system loads.

PANASONIC STRADA

pros- really nice ipod/ipod video interface, dvd playback is good quality picture and wasnt hard to modify to play when i am driving, navigation is fast and accurate, sd card compatible, quick load time (about 5-10 seconds)

cons- most of the functions have to be bought as add ons and add alot of weight to the car (ipod cable, sirius radio, bluetooth etc.) the sirius add on was almost 10lbs!!!, graphical user interface for navi is a little rough, cant play videos off of sd card, setup of all the options takes forever, requires an update via sd card straight out of the box

all in all, it is a great head unit and i would highly recommend it. definitely worth the 800+ dollars i paid for it.

I install alot of F900/F90's, boot time is average 70-80 seconds. it's very good sound wise, and feture wise. but the lag is annoying. Once it turns on if you had Sat radio, regular radio or a Cd/DD playing you will hear sound after about 15 seconds but still can't do anything untill the 1 minute+ boot up.

Pioneer AVH400DVD-
Pros-
Sound quality inprovment
Smooth and quik to operate
Fully changable color of the screen, and buttons.
Awesome iPod interface, very easy to use
Awesome price

Cons-
Interfaces look some what out dated.
Difficult to seek Radio stations.
No Nav add on option

Overall i love the thing. For the price there is no way you can go wrong.
Highly recommend it.

Either way the reality of it is, you buy good equipment there's some trade offs in certain features or aspects between brand A and brand B but you won't be dissapointed since both are good options

I am planning on getting a deck, I just can't decide on one. Lately I have been looking at the Kenwoods, mainly the KDC-X492 and the KDC-X592. There is only a 30 dollar difference and I like both, but I would like to hear which you guys think would be the better deal.

well i finally got the iva-w205 installed. it is a verrry nice and easy to use dd dvd player. the picture quality is great and the sound with stock speakers is surprisingly nice. the only draw back i can find so far, in the 24 hours i have had it installed, is the ipod does not turn off or stop when the stereo is powered down. so i woke up to a dead battery htis morning
