Need choices for PDX 4.150 and 1.600

I'm trying to figure out what kind of speakers to use with this setup.

the 1.600 I'm going to use my old ass wedge with 2x12", I don't know the specs of it, but it has handled anything I throw at it without distortion.

But for the 4 speakers, I have no clue what to use.... What do you guys suggest? I wanted something with good highs since the lows can be handled by the power wedge. Mostly listening to techno/heavy bass music. But I've been doing Rock stuff lately and my current speakers can't handle them at all, it can handle everything else, including jazz, just no rock...

Focal 165v1 components in front, nothing in the back .. or Focal 165CV(coaxials) they can't handle the full power of the 150.4's, but your ears won't able handle that anyways.

hmm, ok, will this sound just as well for the people in the back seat, I normally have my car with 2 other people, it sounds damn well in the back. But was going for all four doors.

I'll look into the Focals, and see about mounting the tweeters up top.

Currently I have a set of speakers in the car, when I get my new PDX's installed, I can figure out what the hell I installed in the car from my older Integra.

Thanks,
-Anthony

I have installed Focal 165v1 components in front (Metra spacers and door panel trimming not included) and a set of Polk coaxials in the rear. In my opinion, the rear is just fill but I would still upgrade them from the OEM crap. I, too, am running the PDX's...

I think I have sony punch's or something similar to that, it's the sony brand I picked from BestBuy's shop, I picked speakers that handled the high's and mids with the music I had on my ipod.

I tried going to a few audio car places, and most had nice speakers, but it was hard to see what I was listening to, and not a lot of choice... odd.

Question:
Does the PDX's 150watt mean the RMS value, or peak? The Focal's are normal 70w, max 140w ( http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3111 ) Wondering if this is fine, and if someone decides to blast the deck all the way up, what should I expect to happen? nothing? blown speaker?

Focal speakers are not mass marketed. Mainly, high end local shops or a few internet outlets carry them. Be aware that cheap knock-offs (eBay) exist. Buy from an authorized dealer only! The PDX is 150 watts RMS. Use your head when driving any speaker beyond it's capability. I can drive mine without issue until my ears bleed.

it's not me that messes with the controls all the time... I normally slap a hand that approaches the HU, but I am not in control all the time.

So, nothing will happen if someone pumps up the volume all the way.... (from lack of answer?)

I haven't experienced anything bad and I have had them installed for two months now. I don't believe you will be disappointed with this choice in speakers.

Awesome, perfect.

Any pref or reputable shop selling these online? or local to you? (I live in the Sunset of San Francisco for the meantime)

The power issue really isn't an issue at all. you'll either hear the mids distorting noticably, or your ears will in fact be bleeding before the speakers blow.
