My plan, and options?
My plan, and options?
Ok,
Maybe I wont be getting a PDX Duo....
But I need to master what I have so far.
I have the humming in the speakers still, and I did a rewire of my cabin to have the main 4AWG cable going in from the Driver's side fuse block's grommet. I have it mounted with a 100amp fuse at the battery, and I have it grounded in the trunk as I think I should.
Anything I'm missing? I'm thinking of getting the ground loop RCA option in a bit, and should I place this in the trunk with the amplifier? or at the source?
Please review my installation, and IGNORE the ground wire's extra fluff at the Amp, I already cleaned that up, didn't see it till the flash showed me the flaw.

I also got a slight humming and ticking noise coming from the front tweeters/speakers after putting in a amp.
Tried re-routing the power wire down the driver side and rca signal wires down the passenger side meeting under the passenger seat where the amp is mounted. Still getting a annoying hum/tick.
Might try a inline noise filter on the power line and rca filters.

Same here, going to get an inlight RCA ground loop thingy and trying that out. At this point, seems worth it, just need to make sure it's properly setup.
Rawr..
I did the install the same way too, ran the RCA's on the passenger side, power on the drivers side, as straight as can be.
Hope my install is ok...
Try the isolator. I had a buzz in my passenger side front side speaker, and it got rid of it. I need to tear apart my dash again, after replacing my Alpine deck with a Pioneer AVC4000 that only had 2 preouts. Rather than have the rears run off deck power, I ran a splitter at the source to connect the 2 rca's and now have feedback. Just tired of tearing apart the dash. But install the isolator at the amp, so you don't have to remove the dash.

ah, so placement doesn't really mattered, didn't see about placement anywhere online, except for grounding the negatives at the HU.
I'll give that a shot, I have enough black cable to do some grounding, my issue at the moment is not the cable now, I ran out of spades to use, and I'm looking for some O-Rings for the 8gauge cables... crud, hope I can find some or have someone buy me a few o-rings... grr
