installed sub to stock stereo... return it??

okay so after about 5 hours of broken up back-aching labor, i finally got my subwoofer to work (10' Fusion w/ 300 watt built-in amp) and it sounds pretty nice in my seat! The problem is

1. It is only noticeable in the extreme low range, mid is still mostly done by speakers

2. THE REAR PASSENGERS WILL DIE! OVERPOWERING BASS IN BACK!

i got it for sale for $97 at Fry's and i think i might return it, i'd rather get rear upgraded lowering springs to fix my issue with the high rear springs. what do u guys think? Is it worth the stress on my passengers? (parents too!) and any feedback on your kits? btw i'll test it a lil more later today cuz i just got it on!

I guess it depends on what your overall plan is. You could always turn the bass down if it's too much. Adding a little bump to the low end for $97 doesn't seem worth returning.

mine's the same except i use an audiobahn atb10AT. It's definitely loud in the back seat cuz there is no trunk to muffle the sound, but for $100, just keep it. It's at least some system rather then nothing.

Adjust your amp settings (I usually only run my amps previously at half power) and whatever you can for EQ/fades on the factory unit and you might be able to dial in a more overall bearable setup for your rear passengers. It won't beat a good aftermarket HU w/ a good EQ, or a separate amp./sub setup (I think typically there's more adjustments you can make with free standing amplifiers...? especially if it's a good reputable quality company)
I personally don't care if my passengers complain (but I also don't crank it when I've got a car full of people) but I have a 15" Memphis (The box takes up almost the whole trunk area with the seats up)and an MTX (pre circuit city sellout cheapo amps) Thunder 6K series amp... I believe I hit 135 dBs in my old explorer with this... its LOUD in the Fit. But not crappy - its nice and clear bass (though I do buzz the rear hatch now, and other plastic interior parts...) Sound deadening will come eventually.

Hey Jason, was it difficult to install? I'd like some low bass as well for cheap but when it comes to electrical stuff like this, I'm clueless. There's a Fry's near my gf's house though.

$$ is tight right now, but for $99 I'm there...

it's not impossible but it does require some knowledge, the only thing im worried about for your car is that i spliced near the back doors into the rear speaker cables and im unsure if the wiring was changed for your model.

They're not on sale anymore!!! 149.99 now but if u still want them i still think it's a good choice because you get a controller that you can put up front for volume adjustment and plus it has a built in amplifier so the cost is pretty cheap. If you do decide to get it just post and im sure everyone will be ready to help!

Too much bass in the back... of course the Fit is not made for subs its one big sub box... but as you go outside the car it doesn't sound all that attractive... especially if the car is not properly sound deadened (dynamat)

That wiring is not a good set up (NO OFFENSE)...

what should have been done is if any splicing was to be done it should have been done using a line out converter... then run RCA cables to the amp, you get a much better sound...
