Hi co-Fit/Jazz owners! Just wanna ask regarding battery upgrade for my Honda Fit. The size of the current battery is 8x5 (l x w). Is there any Optima/Lightning Audio/Napa battery that would fit on my battery bay? I saw a Fit on HypeRev mag, having an Optima battery on his Fit, but the fuse box is on the left side of the engine bay, while mine is on the right side near the battery bay..

Please help me on this problem... I'll change my battery because of my audio system.... Thanks and more power to y'all!

 

An Optima dealer can help you find the right one. You just need to know the group.

Which group is the battery? Looks smaller than the stocker judging by the battery tray that is now showing.

 

One of those tiny Buddy Club batteries would almost certainly be fine.

Anyone ever used one of those? Are they okay for daily use?

 

Fine for daily use but not good for upgraded audio use.

 

I have a Odyssey battery which is identical to the Buddy Club and others of the same size. It works fine for daily use as long as you drive your car on a pretty regular basis. It doesnt have alot of reserve amps like its bigger normal sized counterparts also the colder the climate you live in the quicker it will lose charge. I have a small charger that I use on it if I know im not gonna be driving for a few days or your actually better off disconnecting the battery. The battery itself is only 14lbs so its a good way to reduce some weight also.

Optima is a great product line... I would have to say you will not complain with that...

 

That's too bad about the reserve issue. I want an Odyssey for the weight savings, but I'm not sure I'd be using the car daily.

does anybody know if any Braile batteries fit?

 

Fitment as far as batteries go arent an issue as long as there equal to or smaller then stock which the Braile is. The Fit's stock battery is substantially smaller then your typical stock battery due to the the motor being so small. I highly doubt it weighs anymore then 25lbs and the Odyssey I have which is the same identical to the Buddy Club also the IDI Racing Battery and all those weigh around 15 to 16lbs. At the most you will be saving about 10lbs in weight if you do the upgrade.

 

Can someone tell me the amp-hour rating of the stock FIT battery? What is the rating of the yellow-top Optima that fits the FIT?
