Mugen shift knob

Hey guys. I've been wanting to get the mugen shift knob for a while but it was pretty expensive. However, I found a site that sells them for 30 bucks. Honda
What do you guys think about this? too good to be true?

at that price, you can guarantee it's fake. the original Mugen "dildo" shift knob has the logo etched in. the ones in your link are probably just screened on and will fade away eventually.

i would also advise not to buy from that website -- just a personal opinion. their webpage looks like something pulled off of a free html/css template; very unprofessional IMO. seems kinda sketchy. you could easily find a Mugen replica knob on ebay for the same price

hey guys I've been a lurker on these forums for a few weeks now but finally registered. Anyways this thread is of interest to me since I recently bought a mugen shift knob from ebay. Everywhere I looked they were around 90 to 100 dollars, but I found one that was only 40 dollars. I assumed it was cheaper because it was used or something, since I know very little about car parts . Anyways, when it came I looked online and found that the packaging is different from the original mugen packaging. The one I have only has the japanese symbols, while the genuine one has the name "mugen" also. It seems fine though, what are the disadvantages of having a replica? Also, is mine a replica? I doubt the seller will let me return it because of that, even though he made it sound like it was real in the discription...

i wouldn't worry about a replica shift knob -- unless you paid the price for an authentic one. it works the same way and probably will have the durability of the original except with the logo wearing out

fake mugen knob is exactly the same as real knob. only difference is the typo in the packaging. a genuine knob says "genuine" a fake says "gunuine" lol

haha mine doesn't even say genuine or gunuine, just says "mugen power." I have a question though: when i was putting my shift knob on i kept turning it clockwise until it seemed like it was snug, but then i've noticed that when i go driving it sort of feels loose again so i turn it more to tighten it up. Any idea whats going on? I don't want to break it...

is there a lock screw
there should be a small lock screw that you tighten with a small allen key to prevent it from loosening. maybe not since it is a replica.

it should have been packaged with the knob. is there a threaded hole at the base of the knob? if there isn't, i think you just gotta keep on twisting till you just can't twist anymore -- without cross threading the knob/shift lever of course ... maybe put some lock-tight on the threaded portion of the shift lever too.
