Bi-Xenon

I traded a member on the forums for a set of projectors. I got them on the car yesterday with minimal problems. The left side doesnt fit 100% theres a little gap but my friend with his body shop said he can play with it and get it to fit better.

My only question is that the light came with bi-xenon already built into and the two wires hanging out. My friend is pretty good with all of this but he has never seen a bi-xenon set up with the moving arm and he is not so sure how he needed to power it. Can anyone help me out what do i connect the bi-xenon wire to and when I turn my high beams on now the HID's shut off. Obviously we need the arm to move and for the lights to continue to stay lit. Any help?

Thanks guys!

For bi xenons there should be wires coming from it that activates the shield. Any pics of the rear to give us a better idea. You might not have bi xenons if you turn on your HIDs and it shuts off. That happens when you have only low beam HID.

The guy who sold them to me told me they are bi-xenon I also checked inside the housing and saw the moveable arm things on the inside. The reason they turn off is because we didnt try to hook the highbeam up because we were unsure. The're are two wires coming from the back of the projector that are connected to the highbeam both red then they go through a clip and ones black ones green. Both taped together. I am just unsure of where to get the power from the move the shield. Also unsure of how to keep the HID's on.

If those are the two wires to active the shield it doesn't hurt to touch neg and pos to try it out. If that does work. That means you have to tap the ground with the other ground wire for the low beam and hook up the shield wire to the hi beam on the h4 socket.

Pm'd you back. Now if you get that harness on the link that I sent, you won't need those green and black/brown wires that are connected to the two red wires on the projectors. from the bixenon harness you will just connect them to the two red wires but you can use the green/black wires as a guide leading up to the 2 red wires to determine your positive and negative. RED is positive black/brown is negative.

Well you can try to connect them to your stock h4 harness just locate the ground and the hi beam wire from the stock h4 connectors but I doubt if he didn't use a harness for them maybe they'll work. the green and black wires are from the harness that the original projectors came from. as I've said green positive and black negative.

I am reading your pms figured id continue this convo in public. Now I already have my HID kit and projectors installed on the car. I've showed you the housings and the kit I bought is here : D2S XENON HID CONVERSION KIT

The picture you have shown me is included in the kit and already on the car being used. All i will need is the harness here: The Retrofit Source (U.S.) - HID Projector Retrofit Kits, Retrofit and HID Componenents, Projectors Lens, Wiring Harnesses, Shrouds and more! And I will be able to power the high beam solenoid thing. If i am understanding correctly?

Yeah! you got it right you'll be able to power up the high beam solenoid using the harness that's in the link.

edit: just make sure you connect the right wire POS to POS and NEG to NEG from the harness to the solenoid wire.

I recieved my harness last night all i did was open it up and check it out. I'm very confused on how to install this so im going to have my friend look at it. Hopefully he can figure it out. Some instruction telling me what wire connects to what would have been nice. But the site i purchased it from was very very fast shipped same day i ordered and only took a day or two to get here.

was it the site that I gave you? and is it the H4 bixenon ones? If so then it's a pretty straight forward install the only thing you have to figure out is the polarity of the solenoid connector from the harness but you will know if you peel a little bit of the cover and see which is the red wire and that would be your positive side. Now to connect them to the projector solenoid you have to remove the green black wire from the projector you won't need them and plug the harness to the solenoid connector. positive side on the solenoid projector should be where the green wire was connected or if you check the connectors on the projectors it has a black marker on the side of the connectors that is you positive side.

Yes it was the exact thing you told me to order. Honestly all of this is new to me I've never really messed with electronics like this im more of a computer geek. My friend that installed the lights knows what hes doing so if its straight forward i assume he can figure it out. Ill also show him your posts if he needs guidence. I wanted to do this myself but id rather not mess anything up.

Rite now the stock plugs are cut off and it is just low beam power connected to the HID bulb. I need to go from that set up that it is now to using this harness. Even what im typing now is going rite over my head.

Ok the high beams are on and working!

The harness was a bit confusing my friend was like great no directions or anything telling me what goes to what. After being confused for a little bit he tested some wires figured it out and had it done in no time. Zip tied all the wires to make it pretty double sided taped the wiring harness near one of the ballasts and WALA all done.

Thanks for everyone who helped. My friend was very amazed at how the high beams work hes never worked on a set up like that.

Well now the driver side bulb or ballast has blown out. I dont even know how to check which one is blown but the light on that side no longer works. I can never win.

Switch ballast/bulb from the other side to see. DO the bulb first cause it's most likely easier.

This car gives me no god damn room to work behind the bulb. I'm not to great with these and not being able to see isnt helping. I removed the red thing off the back of the bulb but I have no clue how to remove the bulb since I cant see a thing and I dont remember what it looked like before we put them in. It's not like the stock click where there pretty easy to remove.
