Rear view mirror vibration dampener

Ever since I put my 15" subs in my car I've had a problem w/ my rear mirror flipping (when the volume is up) now it's loose all the time... any ideas on making or adding some sort of dampener?

I've used a nickel in the mount in my Accord since it would rattle loose and fall off. As far as anything else you may not have much luck.

I'm currently thinking about either trying to make a bushing of sorts out of hard rubber, or might just get a wink panoramic mirror:

Any luck on this? I just have 2 10's but they are enough for me to just forget about trying to use my rear view.

Has anyone tried using a rear view mirror from EK Civic yet? It looks like the mounting and bracket is the same and I never heard of this many people having issues with bass in their cars. It may be worth a try, you can get an OEM rear view mirror from the 96-00 should work. Any chassis 2, 3 or 4 door should be all the same, EJ/EK/EM. I would check Bernardi for Honda part numbers to confirm.

I removed the mirror, split the base into two, put a layer of sound deadener in the middle and two layers at the roof, bolted it back in (it is challenging but it will go back), set the mirror for a day, and finally put a few drops of super glue on the mirror at the ball. It still shakes like a SOB but no longer has me looking at the shifter at highway volume!

Just take it off?
I haven't had one in almost a year.

Thanks for the suggestion. My mirror will drop sometimes when I'm rocking out to dubstep on Pandora and I'll watch the mirror drop with each beat until I'm looking at the ground in the mirror. The only solution until now was just turning the volume down which defeats the purpose of dubstep and a single 12 that kicks like two 12s!
