Bought a 2008 Fit for my son who turns 16 in August. Turns out it was a famous Youtuber's "Ultimate Daily Build" car. I must admit it's pretty rad. Gingium is the channel.
The car specs:

Turbosmart wastegate actuator
Manual boost controller
500cc injectors
Hondata flashpro
Mishimoto intercooler
HKS super sequential blow off valve
Innovative motor mounts
Custom exhaust with actuator valve to have cutout or quiet muffler/resonator sound
Clutch masters FX250
Stainless steel clutch line & delay valve delete
BC racing coilovers
Powerstop race pads
Konig wheels
Upgraded rear sway bar
WK short shifter
Corbeau Seats
Wireless carplay radio
Skar audio speakers & 4 channel amp
Small subwoofer

Great. A 16 year old learning how to drive, using a boosted car that wasn't boosted from the factory.
That car's lifespan is obviously on a limited time frame. With a blown engine or even wrecked car. Not what I would put my 16 year old in, that is for sure. Unless it was bone stock.

Okay I re-read your reply again, and you're making a lot of assumptions and you're actually being a douchebag.
My son has been driving manual transmissions since he was 12. He's very tall for his age, and I'd take him to huge developing subdivisions that were roads only, no houses, and he learned to drive one of my NA Miatas so he's not learning how to drive. He's been driving on our roads here for almost a year, all manual transmission in a Miata, zero concerns on my part on his ability.
I'll say there's a learning curve for the Clutchmasters FX250 because it's unnecessarily stiff, but it's a full face street disc so it's not a ratcheting 6 puck.
It's slow as shit, still. 170hp on an extremely safe tune from a guy who tunes my other boosted Honda, so let me worry about blowing it up 🤣
You should avoid giving parenting advice, seriously. You might think a 170whp Fit is some super unsafe first car, but it's literally no faster than regular traffic like our 2023 Pilot, or a late model Accord, in fact, those are 100% faster.

NWCH is being a jerk, but a turbo Fit isn’t slow.
No modern car is slow and in the hands of most 16 year olds that care enough to learn to drive a manual could be a recipe for disaster.
If your child is the exception, is responsible, and such, great. I see enough adults driving cars slower than a stock Fit recklessly to know that people are going to be behave badly in any car.
I hope your kid enjoys the car responsibly, as I’m sure you do.
I absolutely had to make an account because oh my god people do NOT know how to behave! I feel like I just witnessed the most hateful online interaction.
Really awesome man. That guy always does cool and niche builds, so glad you scooped it up. It was a real treat to stumble upon this thread

My son turned 16 Friday and he's been driving the car solo which in and of itself is anxiety inducing, but he's been a good driver the entire time so I don't think he'll go nuts without me in the car. He mastered the clutch so that's am huge plus.
We've been enjoying the car. I was using it to daily some until turning it all the way over to him, so I've put some miles on it and it's been hiccup free.
So far we've added a nice armrest, swapped out the Corbeaus for some slightly more comfy Corbeaus, replaced front brake pads, replaced VTEC valve gaskets/o-ring, did the red "i" Fit badge, oil and filter change, added a much nicer subwoofer, tint strip on the windshield, and replaced a broken link joint arm on the short shifter.
Next for the fit will likely be the Seb's Garage dead pedal.
