Thumbs up SCCA Solo Pics

Just wanted to share my first visit to the local SCCA event this year. Some guy take pics of everybody and shares the high quality photos on his website. These are the ones I got of the website.

I had a lot of fun breaking in my new tires. I ran last year with the same modifications (springs, f/r strut tower bars, CAI intake and muffler delete) but this year with +17 offset(+38 last year) and yoko avs 100s. I definitly could feel a lot more control and initial turn in response along with overall higher cornering speed. My times were a lot better with practice and I dropped my times the entire day minus 2 cones. I ended up placing 8th out of 17 and left 2 ep si-s and some 240sxs in my wake. It was really the first day I was outside in the sun and got pretty burnt though < im glad I brought my sunglasses

They are vortex generators, similar to the ones on the evolution MR. I had a set to put on my evo rs, but I never put them on. Not sure if they do anything, but it makes the fit look sharkish.

Hey Mike, what happened with the honda meet? The next scca runs in a couple of weeks, I'll let you know. There are a sh*t ton of chi people here cause I guess the scca events in chicago are really packed and no one ever has time to run. The ones here in milwaukee is getting full, we actually lost room for one run on our second set of three runs. It still is fun though.

This is what I like to see! I'll be running my Fit for the first time in two weeks. I've run awd cars prior to this, so it will be a whole new learning experience at speed.

Did you notice any improvement with the front strut bar. I imagine that turn-in will be effective and understeer/overall grip will be my biggest complaints.

I am just hoping for a decent cost effective set of coil-overs in the next year (Spoon=$$$).

You should really drive with your windows up! Causing air resistance if you've got 'em down!

Front strut and rear strut went in at the same time, so I am not sure the difference with just one. What I can tell is that it was a huge improvment over just springs, the car feels a lot more solid. Understeer really isn't a problem, I have noticed the car has a very neutral behavior.

To answer the following question, I got a base with sport fogs installed in it already. The wing is a jdm sport version, its a little longer than the usdm( won't clear the factory antenna)

Good to hear about the neutrality. Please keep us posted as you do more events. With your spings and off-set, did you rub much on hard corners?
