Its the "make this thread unnecessarily long" button

or

the premature button for making the "longest thread on FitFreak"

or

the button to "call back the original poster to tell us what the @#$% it is"...

If thats a starter button it looks very cheap.
Im sorry but you could have bought a higher class button/switch. Hope all it does is beep some horns or something.

The button doesnt seem to be a switched button. Its a press button that needs to be held for the action to keep actioning (haha, that a word?)
My guess, some horns or something? IDK?

That all.....a garage opener.......for the last 24 hour of debuting about that button...it only a garage opener....LoL that really cool...LoL

you can try to link direct power from the car to power the opener, so you dont have to replace the battery.....like the i link.... sweet DIY

This got hyped up too much!! But the button does something way cooler than all the guesses and speculation....

It allows electrons to flow, activating a circuit that transmits a wave of electromagnetic radiation, which is then recognized by a receiver meters away from the car. The receiver triggers a motor which drives a belt that pulls up on large pieces of heavy aluminum sheets against the gravitational pull of the earth, allowing me to pull forward into my garage! (My attempt to make it somewhat awesome; ahh, the conveniences of modern society. )

Well, that was disappointing. I think I am going to get one of these HoMedics Massage Pillows, run some power to it and install it in my seat bottom to massage my balls. Now that will be worth the red button!

Mmmmmm...massage.

You guys are really astute, I thought I would have time to eat dinner before anyone found the answer.

I was thinking along the same lines. The circuit requires a 9V DC source. The car's accessory port is 12V. The remote draws 700ma for the 2 seconds that its on. I think all i would need is a voltage divider to drop the 12V from the car.
