Wow, Fit's got some air time...!

Looks pretty safe for a car of this size and weight though. 40 mph into an offset barrier is a pretty serious smash-up!

Not something I'd want to do, though. Anyone on the forums unfortunate enough to have found out how the Fit stands up in real world accidents?

Looks great. Minimal intrusion to the cabin and the laminated glass stayed intact. Good to see that the stubby nose of the car is still able to crumple and divert the force around the passengers. I saw a clip of the same test on a Kia Rio a year ago and it wasn't pretty.

Looks like a survivable hit, unless of course the car bounces into oncoming traffic, which in turn kills you....

Good vid thanks man.
But yeah it did look survivable. The whiplash would be pretty intense.

Very good crash test. The shell of the car held up very well(ie.all the high strength steel used)and remember that was a JDM Jazz not a USDM Fit.Our USDM Fit's have that longer front to it and the extra rebar for better crash score's(that's what Honda has said). If your interested in the kind of enginnering and use of steel used in the JDM Jazz version, there's a pretty good video on YouTube of the president of Spoon Racing going over the good layout and use of steel on there.

My God, the kids in the back would've had broken necks! I was surprised at the downward motion. I wonder how it would do being T-boned...
