Took a few pics of the new fit at the Vancouver auto show today. Couldn't tell if it was Fiji Blue or Vibrant Blue but it looked pretty nice.

Things I saw about it that pissed me off. No rear disc, no moonroof, no digital climate control, no led tails, long nose, flimsy looking side mirrors, no side markers. Things i saw that i liked. 16 inch alloys, drivers arm rest, storage compartments in the rear seats, exhaust finisher, rear diffuser, hidden rear headrests.

Great pictures! I like the color, but that is about the only thing I like.

dude i HATE that extended front nose!!!! ARGGG!!!! OMG see i was seriously considering getting this one if it did not have that extended front nose. I'm not going 2 spend $16k on another brand new car to dump $3k for the jdm front end. sorry.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think the 09 looks more feminine.. Almost minivan(ish).

the 09 was aimed to appeal towards the female populous for some reason. seems the last gen wasnt so female friendly?
that..thing.. is horrific though. it is basically the new oddesey.
now if we saw some rear discs, climate control, 6spd, and an AWD option(despite the slight drop in mpg) the front end could be do able.
im just curious as to what the base will look like.
so far we've only seen the sport with NAV, I know the JDM stock audio system was pretty horrendous. im just waiting to see ours.

 

Wow i just realized that the little triangle windows arent all that little anymore. They are almost the size of the wheels. haha. Look at the 4th pic. Thats crazy!!!

 

Boy! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO glad that I didn't wait, I like my '07 just fine. The '09 just quite doesn't click...maybe when I can actually see/touch one?!?

Has to be the worse design to come out of the Honda camp ever. The nose is just rediculous. I would just like an explanation from the designer who decided........................hhhhmmmmmm Lets take the A pillar line and fuxor it by adding this hideous long nose that doesn't flow.

 

Here's something you probably missed 'cause you couldn't see it: underneath the rear seats, there's a storage compartment. I wish our 07-08 Fits had those :-\ About the only thing I find I like about the new Fit.

In a previous thread, I agree with JDMChris: the extended front looks like Owen Wilson.

 

They also could have added rear disc brakes & left it alone!!! (Appearance wise)

 

I like my '08 better.

 

Most of the comments are all about the "Looks". I've had my LX for 2 years and 2 winters. Many of you have never had to go through 5 months of winter where the stiff ride makes you feel all the bumps in the roads.

I love my Fit 90% and that choppy ride is what I want the new 2009 to get rid of. I think Honda has listened to many of the comments on this forum and others and has addressed the ride side more than looks.

I think a test ride will tell me more than the outside if they have done a good job. Don't forget this change will be sold in more than Japan and NA.

By the way, I don't see any digs at the new rims and tires. Are they Bridgstone Turanza EL 42 tires?

Id say there will be 3 models of the Fit in Canada. They will no doubt be one without A/C again...then another one that has AC that will be their best seller...then the Sport or RS.

 

i guess im the only one who likes the mini-minivan look. I dont like the front end but its something i can get used to. The price and mpg will be the selling point for me.

and great shots smatt, ive been waiting for pics of the 09 in a color besides red.

 

I like it but I don't think it looks like a mini-van. That's okay though. The current car looks like it should be driven by old people. *looks around* Oh wait......

On another note, unless Honda came up with a new name for it, I'm pretty positive that's Fiji Blue.
