Hood + Tire = Bad

yeah.. driving back from work at like 9:30ish on the main hwy and out of nowhere the this big black thing from underneath the car in front of me just comes at me super fast and BAM! So......................................... From the looks of it, the hood is the #1 thing damaged and the bumper not so much but just scratches (no dents or cracks!) I was thinking of a CF hood for along time but i hate that its gonna be a DD car and the sun will probably kill it. Maybe just get a OEM replacement... ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW i had a JDM "H" from an EP3 on the front for about............2 days till this happened! Can't find it now.... also the license plate i got from HIN and i threw it on there because i got the car used and i'm running on temp tags. Just had the car for about....... 62days till this happened?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

P.S. i dont reply as fast cause im not near a comp all the time.

Damn, that sucks. I would get the CF hood if you gots no insurance and it needs to be fixed. Rock chips aren't so noticeable on CF

i got full coverage but i only had the car for 2 months and this happens. So i dont think they'll like this haha plus its my 1st insured car under my name. CF parts need a lot of attention to keep them from fading correct??? i dont mind getting one for show but for DD and the hot & cold days i feel the CF will let me down. plus im lazy

before i owned the fit i ran over one of those big metal trash cans that's designed for lawn clippings... on the freeway. they're like 60 gallons? 100 gallons? big trash can. it flew up and hit a truck behind me. so i know what it's like, sort of.

...i kept driving. i had a bon fire to get to! you can't blame me, those bon fire pits gets taken fast.

glad ur alright too, this could have been worst. I too would prolly just get an OEM hood, less attention for a DD.

CF wont fade easy.
I got my CF hood for my prelude from VIS and I had it on all during the summer and waxed it reguraly and it still looks brand new.
Your car "requires" a wax every 3 months so go ahead and wax the CF every month and a half I say.
Thats just what I do and it still looks good.
But I do take it off during the winter.

Sucks to hear but at least ur ok

I see ur from MD... If you drive on 495 alot i wouldn't bother with CF cuz it'll just get chipped constantly until it cracks.

you should get one of these, next time it will just fly right over your car.

just kidding. sorry for the bad luck. you should probably get an OEM replacement. if you're lazy and don't want to wax the CF hood, it will look bad. or you could paint a CF hood MR to match. function > form.

Sucks about your hood man. On the good side it stayed on top. Had something similar happen to my Integra years back but in my case it went under the car and did way more damage.

Ouch!!!

OUCH!!!! Sorry about your mishap...picture below is what happened to me with only 879 miles on my car!! Hit a piece of construction debris, just as I was exiting the interstate, managed not to hit it head on, still trashed out tire!!
