Pics of my totaled Fit

So this car is amazing. I totaled it on January 22 this year (day after my birthday) and got a new one a few weeks later. At any rate, I sustained basically no injuries. My left shoulder was inflamed and hot for about a week after the accident (emt said that it was the side curtain airbag that did that), my face had a cut on it about an inch long (again, side curtain airbag), my head had a gash in it from my trunk cover coming and and smacking me, and my elbow went through the arm rest. Other than that I was fine... albeit a bit shaken up. My seat broke away when the car went into a spin and I had thought it was rolling (i was on my back at this point). No passenger's except for a Wii (for my brother) that I had jokingly buckled into the passenger seat. Also my back seats were folded down. What had happened was I hit some black ice on the way home from work. I ended up getting two citations for some reason (I was going well under the speed limit, the accident investigation found that to be true) one for driving at a safe speed (that is what the citation said) and one for failure to maintain (that one made me furious, i should have contested and said that I meant to hit the tree). At any rate, I started to fish tail, got control back, and then lost it again. Went into a spin and hit a tree and something else (not sure what did the all of the damage) My speed was 50 mph at the time of the accident and the roads were clear. So without further ado, here are the pics.

Like I said, I bought a new 08 fit. My only complaint is that the dealer screwed the front plate bracket onto the car.

ah it is ok. I got a new one, granted I did lose $5,000 on the deal. I am more upset about my front bumper now. I may go buy a new one just to fix the hole that they made.

Good to see you're ok. That black ice is dangerous stuff.

My seat broke away when the car went into a spin and I had thought it was rolling (i was on my back at this point).
Did the seat break before or after impacting? Thats kinda scary. From the pics, it looks like the reclining mechanism failed. Thats definitely not safe as it compromises the seatbelt operation.

glad your still around to talk about it... those pictures from the album show alot of damage! Kind of scary the way that drivers side rear door buckled like that though.
