Brand New Base SSM- Rockin Steelies...LOL

Hi Guys,

Some of you may have seen a couple of my posts here, i'm fairly new. My Fit just got off the boat a week ago and I picked it up tonight. I snagged a Base SSM MT- and the mods have already started. I have a console on order with the group buy, some Mugen Sills on the way, a fitfreak.net sticker, the Zeta Hood Deflector and I'm planning on stickin with the factory fourteens and rockin the trim rings-- at least until my first set of tires are worn out and the wife is off me

Be kind-- but let me know what you think about the steelies and trim rings-- only other choice for now is the plastic hubcaps that came on the car and I hate that plastic stuff.

ps. sorry for the pics, it's 12:00am and I just finished installing the deflector.

Amazing that you noticed that from the pic . . . when I checked my tires (in response to your post), all 4 of them were sitting on 31lbs. The tire has max 44psi on the side. Wonder why the dealer didn't hit this as part of the vehicle check prior to delivery? Also, when are the TPS sensors supposed to kick in? I would have thought 13 pounds low would have done it.

Thanks again

I can't believe you guys are hatin' on my wheels . . . their as old school as it gets. Plus, I'm never gonna come out and find my car on blocks like some of you guys! Seriously <wink> what if I swapped the lug nuts for some black chromed ones and threw some dust caps on the centers of all 4 ?

some people love it, some people hate it.

i just dont like car that rock the steelies because they want black wheels. i would rather paint my hub caps black them rock plain jane steelies

All bow to my steelies . . .with chrome rings. I wasn't sure about the deflector either-- then I realized that it was probably the coolest thing since lambo doors.

Yeah, slap on some chrome dog dish center caps with the rings and it'd be tight. Maybe paint the wheel? Gunmetal, or charcoal, maybe even bronze or body-color. Mix it up! It's a classic look. Even the old Hemis used to rock that style.

Tire Pressure , , ,

Hey guys,

I dont have my manual with me. My tires were inflated to 32psi from the dealer, the 14" base model rubber says on the tire 44psi max. What do I inflate the tires to?

Sorry for the dumb question

open the driver's side door. there is a sticker in the door sill with the recommended tire inflation psi. if i remember correctly, my base model says 33 psi... i think.

nice base! where did you get those trim rings? i'm interested in a set of those myself. how much were they?

I bought them off some guy on craigs list. $18.00 Shipped

They are listed at various places on the internet as 14"trim or beauty rings. You'll find them in plastic with chrome finish (might steer clear), chrome plated mystery metal, and stainless. I think I have seen the stainless go for $35-$45.00. Mine arent plastic-- not sure which of the other two that theyu actually are-- check this thread out for some wicked steelies
