Another New VBP FTW Thread!
Hey all, been lurking for a while, finally got around to posting up some pictures of my new Fit 5MT. I was in the market for a new car since the 12 mpg of my previous daily driver was killing my wallet, and since I already had another 1st generation Honda, I took a look at the Fit before the model change. It was in my budget, got good mileage, and I actually fit in it (was a problem with a few other cars I looked at - I'm 6'-5").
It took the dealer almost too long to find the car in the right color, but I have it, and it's small enough that I can fit two Hondas in one side of my garage (which I know is a little dirty, I just moved into a new house and was still working on cleaning up when I took the picture).
Still all stock, maybe some mods when the budget allows!

Yeah, the Fit is a bit bigger than the Civic - both have a 1.5 engine though! This winter the Civic is up for a 5-speed swap (currently has a 2-speed Hondamatic semi-auto - a transmission that truly deserves a WTF) and eventually may get a dual sidedraft intake, header, cam swap if I get around to it, and finally find the rest of the parts - still searching for a cam! Performance parts are next to impossible to find.
The YJ was the previous daily driver, and was getting around 15 mpg, but I needed air conditioning for the summer. My 12 mpg daily driver is an '82 Chevy Caprice with a 350 swap, overdrive transmission, and suspension swap from a '96 Impala SS (springs, swaybars, rear axle, 4-wheel discs, etc.). Fun to drive, but not the best for the budget. It really should get better than 12 if I kept my foot out of it, but for some reason it doesn't want to. Still have to do a little more digging in for better economy on that. Still gets about double the mileage of the '67 Chevelle I have (can't see that in the picture very well - just the front wheel to the far right).
