New LED lights, blinded? =D
My order came in today for LED lights and wow, i dont regret it AT ALL!!! its all love! its 8500k and i put one in the dome light, theres a pic of that else where, looks like that, and i put one in the cargo area, all i got are shitty pics of that so nvm that. heres the pics! [of top light and license plate lights]
--Arranged in before and after--
[no the neadlights are not one]
[niether is this one]
I actually got my hands dirty for my baby, does this mean i lost my car-virginity?
and i ****ed up the clip for the license plate light, its being held in the hole with wood glue
And now, when its all together
Damn im sexy theres one more set of lights i can put in the front: switchback turn lights but i think thats pushing it
rate me ^.^

Looks cool, but the rears look a little too blue for my taste.
Can you do a small DIY or write-up on how you accessed the rear license plate lights? There's a thread about that already, but it requires going through the inside of the hatch or something. How did you go about it?

i did it from the outside, very simple actually. it even shows an arrow that says "remove" lol hint hint ;] strangley enough tho, i broke on of the clips doing it.... ill put up a DIY sum time tonight or tomorow. and yea its bluer than i expected, but thats the kind of light im lookin for thats great i guess the best part is tho, the top lights and the rear license plate light are visible on the road, now THATS some light. the top lights even goes "back", meaning more than 90 degrees to the left (for the left top light), the site said it goes 220 around. so yay

I did that with my plate lights too!
I figured blind people could better see me just before hitting me!

Swapping the plate lights is super simple. Use one finger and push the clear plasic housing to one side (right I believe, but its only gonna go one way) then it pops right out. Just dont do it when its cold, the plastic seems somewhat brittle and I bed the cold will snap the clip right off. I did mine in the summer so was no issue.

yeah for superbrightleds.com
only thing is tho- esp with the cold- the leds are not gonna last long-
i bet you 50 cents they will flicker and crap out in about 2-3 months
get a few spares now to have on hand

really? they flicker? egh... oh boy....
and yea i think the cold temperatures did have something to do with the plate lights, the clip broke off... thin and brittle... but i was in the garage! wtF! are there any replacemtns anywhere? and clip replacments that hold the wheel well? [my dog ate it ]
HAHA i rather have them SEE me before they even think about hitting me
yep, im !DREAMING! of led tails, ugh! but its 300 bucks man... thats going to have to wait till i get a job.. independant fog im going to do at a meet, so i dont **** up, and tint is going to happen too, down the road. heres what i got in mind, sooner to later: red emblem, tint, led tails, rims? [i dont even got an idea for the price of rims]. as for droppin, thats pricey, is the fit not low enough as it is? i would like to go lower, but theres bumps and rocks to worry about... around my area
i gotta find the perfect spot to take pics of it! new sig coming up!

I dont trust ebay, i rather buy it from FF, anything over $50 will wait till i get a job second semester. i also forgot to add an exaust to my wish list and im thinking the fog mod is going to happen next week, it's a request from my new LEDs it will look so damn good together

i'm planning on doing the license plate lights in LEDs because i hate that stupid lag time with the incandescents when i hit the lock/unlock button, i'll get around to putting leds in the signal lights (adding a loading resistor), reverse lights and LED amber front markers. not a priority, i don't care about lights and i don't have the patience for that right now after doing the LED tails and making a third brakelight and not to mention the great independent foglight mod.
putting those bright white marker lights in the front housings is illegal in this state i believe.. so keep that in mind if you see a cop pulling you over
nice job though!

would you have any pics of that dome light? Ive been debating on either getting that or the one from oznium.
Sorry to rain on ur parade but i think you should have opted for the little more expensive 194s from superbrightleds. I got the ones that look like a circuit board with some leds on it, and its oh so bright.

i changed the top lights cuz im trying to "stick out", but subtle, i might be the only car with no amber front lights for 50 miles also it looks cool when im idle with no headlights IE parking lot
i actaully wasn't thinking of going too far for this one.. i figured, its LED, what more can i ask for lol i asked my mom to do a drive by to see how it looks without amber lights and damn it looks sporty in a way i ahevtn seen it juss top lights tho, gotta see that. waiting to do fog mod first
the pics i took are horible, it looks juss as real on the LCD screen yet it looks like shit when i took the picture [like when i reviewed it on the camera itself] so i adjusted it to make it look as close to the real look as possible. its still not perfected tho. its brighter and a wee bit bluer. I'd take pics of the cargo area too but that bulb hasn't got here yet [its the ssame as to lights but i forgot an extra one ]
heres a pic of the dome lights, keep in mind, this was a pitch black garage
From the outside
from the outside without toplight/glare?
inside from trunk area
from trunk area with only "day lights"? on
from rear left passanger door [open]
rear shot from above dash display

cops they're just complete a-holes in this state. they look for anything to pull you over for. i'm paranoid about my third brakelight not being bright enough, i'm going to switch those over to 6 18,000 lumen leds so they're bright enough for PennDOT. My LED tails aren't stamped USDOT Approveded either. So for state inspection it could be a reason for them to not pass my car because of my whole setup back there. i also make sure to not just run foglights by themselves unless there is bad weather... since that's also illegal...
but it's probably ok to do in south africa!
