You don't have to be "normal" to have done it first. All I'm trying to say is, towelie shouldn't take things so incredibly seriously, as somewhere, someone has done it well before he ever thought about it. This is where trends, fads, etc. come from, and at the end of the day someone in the world is going to end up having similar tastes to your own.

Realistically if you don't want people to "bite" your style, don't post whore your vehicle all over the internet to give people ideas. lol

I understand towelie being annoyed over someone getting the same fabric.

I mean you point out that his other mods are also on hundreds of other Fits. But stuff like spoilers and lips. Theres about 4 or 5 options so its accepted for someone to have the same one.

But theres MILLIONS of different designs of fabric. Its just some people really want to be unique, I mean the guy has purple wheels. Which are sick btw Come back up so I can detail it!

I can completely understand, and I can even sympathize with towelie, as I have been within the automotive scene for well over 10 years now, and when I first started out with the scene I too tried to be "unique". Eventually you'll come to the realization that it's alot harder to be different, as someone, somewhere has already done it, especially when you own a vehicle that anyone can afford.

Given this, it may be the same fabric, but lets be honest, it's not even remotely the same due to the different colourings used throughout the fabric. Infact, if none of you would have even brought this up, I'm quite confident that nobody would have been the wiser.

As for the purple wheels, well to be honest, it's nothing new, as there have been a number of a sets of wheels throughout the years that have come from the factory painted purple. Infact, like I had mentioned previously, I'm quite confident I have seen, and/or can provide pictures of a set of purple BBS RS's on a VolksWagen Rabbit or Golf well before towelie had his refinished in that fashion. lol

But like I said, take it as a compliment, and move on. We all get our ideas from other individuals, cultures, fashions, etc. because we like them, and at the end of the day, there was absolutely no need for the elitist attitude given what we own.

For what it's worth, I think they look pretty sick. Don't feel bad Towelie got pissed. There's a fine line between wanting to be different and wanting what you think is the coolest/best. There's nothing wrong with wanting what you'll like, not JUST because it's different.

This thread is the very reason I love this forum. People are so passionate about their fits, they will stoop to bickering to prove they were the first to do something.

The best comment on this thread came from JaySmith, "if you don't want people to "bite" your style, don't post whore your vehicle all over the internet to give people ideas." Awesome and so well put. If you put it out there someone will copy it. Plain and simple.

Yup...

That's where I got my material, I'll be installing it in a month or so, when I get free time to take off the panels, and install the fabric, and no, I will be removing the panel, and tucking it properly, then bonding it to the panel again.

I mean this is what I wanted to do and what I was going to untill I took the door panels off and saw how they were put together. The fronts are plastic rivited together which can be removed and put back together I guess. The rears on the other hand are one piece so it makes doing it properly kinda hard. I am going to do it one way or another so Ill probably just cut a piece slightly larger and then just tuck the edges in and cut off the excess.
