Cold Air Intake For AT
Cold Air Intake For AT
Hi all,
So here goes. I changed my induction system about 2 years ago to the HKS Re-loaded Induction System. It was ok.. but it had a majour flaw! it would suck up the hot air from the engine as the filter layed juet a couple of incehs above the auto tranny. Once the car heats up the cars power drops.. and im not talking just a little either! So recently i decided to look online for a Cold Air intake system for our AT's. I would have thought there would have been a nice selection online but no.... next to nothing.
So as a result of that i decided to fabricate a cold air intake system made from Stainless Steel. Its 99% done! just the aluminium box needs to be a tad higher. So far the car runs perfectly! plenty of high end and low end power now and after a long drive and coming to the lights.. pulling away again is like when the car just started! NO power loss from hot air!

Next will be to heat wrap my Weapon R Intake Header.
Here are my pics. Sorry the cars abit dirty its rainy season here.

Looks good, I never have run a CAI on any of my cars. With winters up here I always thought it would be a bit sketchy and its a PITA to get to the filter to clean it.
Nope... heres the engine bay pic with a box around my fuse box so you can see it clearly.
