I had one one my 1st one and dinged it in just over a week. I want to see how long I can go with the stock one. If I do ok for a few months I might go with it...

But seriously, I did bump into a parking space divider-thing and scraped it in no time.

I will wait and see. I have the cash ready. I don't trust my parking yet.

Nice restart, I also think it would look better with the Mugen front to match the back. After that, just lower it and you're set! Good to see you taking this one further than your last one by adding wheels.

if you can afford mugen, then you can afford better wheels and a better drop.

If you're on stock suspension, then not much you can do. Springs will give you that inch plus more drop that you want; and won't hurt your bank too much.

I'll keep her stock. It is my daily drive. I don't need to do a bunch of aftermarket stuff to her. I slid on her black motegi's and tinted her up after the dealership added on my Mugen asseseries. She's good for now. Like I said earlier, I had that Mugen front on my last one and scratched it in like no time. I cant put into words seeing my old car with like 10000 miles on her and she was flawless except, that "Blackeye" on the front. I think I am obsession compulsive because that's all I saw.

Thanks for the info about the springs. I know if I dropped her down, I'd scratch her up again. I checked her, at this height. I clear those parking stone things. Under the front there is a piece that looks like it is made to touch those things. It has that cooshy tape to protect her...

The Mugen front end is inherently lower and sticks out more than the sport trim... not much, but it is. So, survivable with Sport, might not be with Mugen.

It's not tape... it's not meant to protect the front end either... it's actually part of the aerodynamics of the car (or some shit like that). It's the underbody spoiler.

I got all kinds of scratches, dings and dents on my car (noticed one yesterday on the hatch, think got hit by a rock, did someone throw it?). I know I'm a bit OCD about things looking like new... but sometimes, you just can't help it. You can try... but you're gonna get plenty of scratches on the bumper.

That being said... it's worth it for the Swift Springs. Never had this much fun in a car (*cough*that didn't require a second person*ahem*).

Yeah, I didn't think about that while I was doing it. Doh!!! It rained last night so all is good. I have a photoshoot today at the local SCCA competition, if they get the track dry. :-). I shot yesterday. Great day!

I like the rims, I like the rear...and I am talking about your vehicle.

Have you owned a black vehicle before?

They can look great, but ultimately I think you need to either learn to clean constantly or care less...because water spots, dust...almost inevitable and instantaneous.

rensa, if you do lower it or get the mugen lip, just adapt to park further away from those parking curbs, or back into the stalls at all times.

Adapt or Die!

That's great until the one time you forget, or misjudge. Which I think it almost inevitably going to happen regardless of how careful you plan to be.

I've been incredibly careful with just my Standard "Sport" Fit, promising myself I would watch parking curbs and driveways...but there is just no way to totally avoid the occasional sound of scraping...You just hope it's minimal or non-visible everytime you hear it.

Man, I have been so careful with my standard stock Sport. I haven't clipped a single curb or parking block. Stopped this afternoon on the way home from work to rescue a turtle that was crossing the road (silly female, I know). I hopped back in my car after making sure the little guy was safe, pulled forward and ground the right side of my front bumped on a hidden concrete block (who the hell put that there?!). Now I'm in the market for a new front bumper and clips.

As long as I'm here, any suggestions?

I adapt. But even so. Sometimes I F-up and bump. After the initial scratch I adapted very fast, but even so...when i least expect it. I bump something. I am being really careful now. Hell. I don't even speed since the crash. Big crashes change you I guess...
