Help-Urgent: Need Torque Specs and tips for FIT suspension Front & Rear
Hi all,
I've had my 2008 Fit for 2 weeks now... I just bought a set of EIBACH springs and will complete install tomorrow. It's now in pieces and I'm waiting for daylight. However, I cannot find any information on installing - the problem with the car being so new.
I'd like to know the torque specs for the following (and answers to two questions).

FRONT -
-x2 Bolts which connect the strut to the steering knuckle (I guess 86ft/lbs ?)
-x1 Bolt which connects the Sway Bar linkage to the strut body (I guess 32ft/lbs ?)
-x1 Bolt which retains the spring to the shock (I guess 33 ft/lbs)
-x1 Bolt which attaches the strut to the frame of the vehicle; very top (I guess 33 ft/lbs - How can you use a torque wrench on this bolt?)
*Also, what is the procedure for tightening the top of the strut - I notice that from the factory it is very loose; the rubber can be lifted and rotates easily. Shouldn't this be tighter?
*For tightening the Sway Bar linkage to the strut body, I notice that the ball-joint will rotate when tightening; is there a trick to tightening this?
REAR -
-x1 bolt for rear shock lower (I guess 50ft/lbs)
-x1 bolt for rear shock upper (I guess 45 ft/lbs - Again, how can you use a torque wrench on this bolt?)

Well, I did it all myself today and guessed... made one major mistake thanks to a lack of knowledge here; I searched the site thoroughly and surprisingly found virtually no technical information (i.e. torque specs) for Fit suspension. I hope this changes in the future... can't be "fit freaks" and not have the basics on the site; someone should make a sticky with vital information.
Anyway, I have a 2008 Fit Sport MT. I purchased some Eibach Pro-Kit Springs to stiffen up the ride a little and make it look sexier. Mission accomplished.
As mentioned above I didn't have any torque specs to go on so I learned a lesson the hard way as I estimated torque values throughout the install.
My results are below (please forgive the incorrect terminology):

19mm Spring-Retaining-Bearing-Nut (underside of body) - 32 ft/lbs
17mm Rubber-Bushing-Nut (top of strut) - 20ft/lbs??? *This was a pain... I could not tighten this beyond 20ft/lbs as it kept rotating, it's much tighter than when I took it off though - it was quite loose from the dealership. What's the deal with this Nut & Bushing? It looks as though you need to remove the entire windshield wiper shield-cover to get proper access; I wasn't going to attempt that when it was already much tighter than before.
Front Strut to Steering knuckle/brake assembly - 80ft/lbs each bolt
Sway bar linkage - 29 ft/lbs

Upper rear shock is NOT 36ft/lbs... I ended up cracking the top of the shock (where the allen key goes) trying - it's never coming off now; it will need to be dremel`d off and a new shock bought, luckily it's a 2008 so the shock should last awhile. Pissed me off though. I did the other side 29ft/lbs to be safe.
Lower Rear shock - 40ft/lbs

The car rides beautifully now. It looks hot. Aside from my stupid mistake, and the top of the front struts spinning (but still tighter than from the dealer) it went quite smoothly. I am satisfied with the install... if anyone see's any glaring problems with my torque values please chime in (e.g. my 80ft/lbs bolts should be 100ft/lbs, etc.)
Hope this can help someone else in the future.

actually Š”Ž‰ŽЁ@ƒeƒCƒ“ has installation manuals online and they list the
torque specs as well.
