Question lowering my dd

just another fit rookie here trying to figure it all out!

would like to drop my brand new 08 fit sport. she just looks too tall! here's what i'm considering..

-swift seems great at 1.2" fr/1" rr. tad pricey at $249
-skunk2 also good at 1.5" fr/1" rr. great $ at 165 or so.
-eibach prokit at 1.6" fr/1.3" rr. price so-so at $205 or so.
-progress great at 1.5"fr/1.3 rrrr. price great at $165. but out of stock for 3-4 wks!
-vogtland goes 1.6" both ff/rr. price good at $180 or so.

gonna stay w/ stock shocks for now, but tokico now does hp's for around $290. gonna stay w/ stock wheels/tires for now also. but if i change later will be for same size, offset, etc. don't want to rub or bottom out ever. roads in san diego are from smooth and clean to just like downtown tj.

comfort is an issue, ultimate handling not so much. progressive vs. linear anyone? like to find them locally in sd. i have a great susp shop that will be doing the job (call sean at clarence brown alignment in clairemont, btw!)

oh, i'm 39 yrs old! so not into the slammed deal. all you fit suspension experts, pls weigh in! and photos of your car so appreciated.

any and all help, tony

I'm running the progress lowering springs. I got 16's with a 40 series tire. I think over all the ride quality is pretty close to stock, if not better because the car does not bounce as much over bumps. I live in MN and some of the roads around here can be pretty bad because of the abuse form winter. with a +42 off set I have never had a problem with rubbing.

i would do the progress springs and rear swaybar at the same time if
i was to redo the suspension using just springs.

39yr old should run the EnduraTechs's. you're in my age group.

these things have been covered. there is TOO many threads about drops adn what is lower what rides teh best and etc. buy springs till you want good handling. then buy coilovers. that's what i did. btw, if you plan to get the rear swaybar, go with the progress springs. they have a mild drop, but they won't scrape/make noises in the rear. i have skunk2 coilovers now and they are not affected by the swaybar

Progress was supposed to release a set of their coilovers eventually. It's been in their catalog for a while now. I was about to get tokico shocks but someone who bought them said they were really just OEM replacements and not great for lowering.
