Lowering car

I want to lower my car and I thought all I had to do was get new springs but I have been researching and found not to get new springs w/out new struts. What do I need to lower my car safely and completely? I don't have much money so I cant afford top of the line so does anyone have any ideas on what a good brand is and everything I need. Thanks everyone!

search again. there is too many threads about springs

AND, link to where it is said to NOT get springs without shocks.

i doubt anyone is rocking aftermarket shocks with springs. not including coilovers.

get coilovers. they make cheap ones but you pay what you get for. there are a lot of reviews here on coilovers.

tokico (did i spell it right?) makes one, but its practically like oem from what i here.

there's nothing wrong with changing out the springs without changing the dampers. it won't perform as well as if you got a combination of the the two, but it's not gonna completely obliterate your dampers. it probably won't last as long as if you left it all stock, but it will still last so long you won't know the difference. if you want a combination you could look into coilovers, but if money is an issue you should just go with springs.
