Need help installing springs, bolt wont loosen
I'm following tofumans diy guide and somehow managed to get stuck in the beginning.
I'm turning this but the whole assembly just spins and doesn't get loose.

oh good lol I was about to say wd40 + allen wrench :P if that was hard, wait until you remove the bolt keeping the spring compressed lol don't look directly at it, do it upside down or away from you on the grass or something. It won't shoot out like I thought it would, but it was pretty scary from the built-up suspense lol

did u remember 2 cut the bump stops? most people forget 2 cut them so now that the car sits lower, the bump stop keeps getting hit. It's that yellow-ish rubber part on the suspension. I needs 2 be cut like 15mm from the base.

i was following tofuman and when i was at this part i couldnt loosen the bolt and i put wd40 all over it and still couldnt. so i rented a spring compresser and i still couldnt get the bolt off. when i took the allen key off and turned it, it all turned and does anyone know what i could do.

Put your back into it! I'm a skinny ass 5'5" asian and i got it off lol.
And push both the allen key and the wrench towards each other instead of just holding the allen key. You can also get more leverage by putting another wrench onto the wrench on the nut already.

usually the clunking around is just the springs getting the selves into the right spot or perfect spot where they will settle. should go away with time mine did it for about 2 weeks or so.
i used a small breaker bar inserted the wrench into just to get extra leverage.

i took a 5mm wrench and put it around the allen wrench to get more leverage while i was using the other wrench to twist the bolt off. its a trick they dont teach you in auto shop. ha ha ha

rent a impact wrench-
you can get one at a " by the day" price- for about 20 bucks,
i dont know if there are Taylor Rentals where you are, but thats where i got mine,
you will really need one for the back bolts,
also some springs say not to cut the bump stops,
if u hear popping, check to make sure the spring is seated into the hat- there might be dirt in there or its just not screwed on all the way

im 5'10" 200lbs of muscle (i always work out) and i put everything i got in to it. and all my friends are lazy a**es and im the only athletic one.
i would use a impact wrench but i dont have a air compresser and all my friends that have one where at work untill late so i was out of luck.
so push the allen key and wrench toward each other because i was pulling the wrench one way and the allen key the other way.

yea it's usually easier to get them close together and then apply pressure with a shorter distance between the two to get it loose. make sure you're turning them in the right direction though, and not tightening them. you'd be surprised sometimes haha.
