T1R S-damper install question

Well I am finally gonna get off my butt and install my T1R s-dampers and i have one quick question. How do i hold/grasp the piston of the damper when torquing down the nuts so it does not spin?

usually they have a hex on the top of the piston shaft, but if not, you can have someone old the piston using a large plier with
plastic inserts not to damage the rod (rear).

i recommend you even slip a sheet of rubber between the
piston shaft and your pliers with plastic inserts for even more
grippage.

here's wat i use.

hmmm.... There is no allen insert due to the adjustment knob. But there is a nut on the top piston just below the adjustment knob. I wonder if that would work???

nope.

the back can be tightened with an impact gun

the front... i remember i held the strut from teh bottom while my brother in law tightened the top nut with a ring spanner wrench.

What do you mean you held the strut from the bottom? The assembly?

I have already swapped out the springs last year so i know how to disassemble the fronts, it just tightening the nut up without spinning the piston to get enough torque on the nut

To tighten the top hat I used a small vise grip and held the small area under the adjustment knob where there is no threads. I think Kenchan's plastic plier tip would have been better as I marred my top a little. Sears has a plastic vise grip cover I saw after I did mine. To tight the top bushing down drop the car back on it's wheels and let gravity help hold the shaft from spinning.

honestly, i would never use an impact gun on damper
shafts especially ones that are adjustable. on the housing
side different story.

the sears vise grip cover works decently but the teeth on the
plier's side kinda eats through the plastic if you hold hard
enough so make sure you sandwich a rubber hose or even
some leather between the pliers and shaft.
